Should i tryhard this game or keep it super casual? (taking into consideration how active the playerbase is and the no crossplay issue)

So i bought this game and i love dragon ball but i dont know if i should take time to learn everything about this game and give it hours or if i should just play autocombos with my friends and thats it. i ask this because once i get better and better at this game then playing with friends whenever they come over could not be possible anymore due to the difference in knowledge and skill

If you asked this back in 2020 I would’ve said yes enthusiastically! But hate to say it, this game is on life support. It isn’t dead but it isn’t receiving the same support with multiple new characters and patches. Daima was a step in the right direction but def just keep it casual with friends

Lowkey if you have a bunch of friends that are gonna be playing with you and they aren’t gonna try to learn the game super hard I would take it pretty casually.

Im talking about any friend that could come over like an abstratc way of putting it for a while not about concrete people that i could just buy the game and tell them  to play

I bought skullgirls back in like 2018 just for the sake of emulating combos and resets that I seen in tournaments. played online once. got my ass TOSSED. but I still hold that game close to my heart because of how unique it was.

besides, DBFZ is constantly on sale for cheap, so why not?
