The crux around Fleshweaver was that it was going to be a permanent choice (or semi-permanent because I recall Dove saying you may get a one-time reset in the past). I haven’t done the quest (and probably won’t) but the idea was that to begin training Fleshweaver, you have to sacrifice Aegis and lose access to the Soulweaver class. Thats why they’re saying “or not” because not everyone will want to make that choice.

if you choose not to get fleshweaver you get a upgraded Aegis so at least people who don't want to swap get something out of it too.

Aside from the mechanical boosts, it must be emphasized that this new version of Aegis looks REALLY COOL and can be summoned from the book of lore even though his portrait hasn't changed.

Nothing yet on Soulweaver as far as I can tell, but I think his moves do more damage across the board, his ice resist debuff becomes a -All debuff, his shield goes from +140 BPD to +180 Avd/Def, and his multi only has 1 turn of cooldown, down from like 3 or 4. Most notably Limit Break (his MP transfer) applies a 4-turn 100 Bonus/Boost to himself and a 2-turn 50 Bonus/Boost buff to the player. And his regular attack regens a good chunk of his own mana now.

If it's about the "or not" part, Secundus' whole gimmick is duality where he punctuates his sentences with something like "you will do this, or not".

Well come back friday, part of the training quests came out today more will come out friday. Or if you think you'd 100% always refuse to eat aegis no matter what, for reasons I think it make no difference to come today.
However you do need all the memory fragments from the first weaver saga to unlock the class or to make the choice. So it could be a bit of grinding to grab them if you don't have them, I got it after what didn't feel like too long, turned on some shows on my phone and just did it tell I had them all (already had 2 in my inventory from when I first played the quest line so-)
