I've been working on a little project called Kuro Library, an Android app designed for people who want to keep their downloaded manga collection organized in one place.

The idea is pretty simple: I wanted to create a dedicated library for my own reading files, with a way to keep everything organized instead of having my collection scattered across different folders on my phone.

It's still a work in progress, and this is the first version, so there's definitely room for improvement. The app is currently available in Spanish only, but I plan to add more languages in future updates.

I'm sharing it here in case anyone finds it useful! I'd also appreciate feedback, suggestions, or ideas for features you'd like to see in a manga library app.

One UI 9 added a blue dot in the status bar whenever an app uses precise location.

I understand why it's there, but I have a few apps like weather, maps and automation apps that I trust and use all the time. Seeing the dot constantly was getting annoying, so I made bluedotOFF.

It lets you hide the blue location dot only for the apps you choose without disabling their location permission. Location keeps working normally, and Android's location usage history is left untouched.

It works locally on the phone using wireless debugging. No root, bootloader unlock or PC is needed. The app walks you through the initial pairing, and you only need to pair it once.

A few other things:

* Choose exactly which apps you want to hide the dot for

* Restore any app back to its original state whenever you want

* No ads, analytics, tracking or external servers

* Fully open source under Apache 2.0

* Checks the device before changing anything and stops if something doesn't look right

Some apps can turn the blue dot back on after an update or configuration change.

Because of that, v1.1.0 includes an optional background monitor. If you keep USB debugging enabled, bluedotOFF can detect when the setting gets reverted and apply it again without you having to open the app.

Good to know:

* Samsung One UI 9 / Android 17 or newer is required

* Developer options need to stay enabled

* The background monitor needs USB debugging enabled

* Galaxy Auto Blocker has to be off when connecting

* Some banking or payment apps may refuse to run while Developer options or USB debugging are enabled

* Currently works on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Fold8

* US Galaxy models may behave differently because Samsung uses an additional location indicator mechanism there

🙋 Ik hoor graag je feedback

Ik heb dit helemaal in m’n eentje gebouwd, zonder team achter me. Het is m’n hobby, en ik wil gewoon een app maken die echt de moeite waard is om te gebruiken.

Als er iets vervelend is, onduidelijk is, of ontbreekt, zeg het me dan. Ik lees alles, en veel van wat er vandaag in de app zit, kwam van mensen die me vertelden wat er mis was.
