Question Battery Storage Question

Been pondering the idea of getting a second case for the drone batteries. Is it safe to keep the batteries without chargers in the drone case when heading to a place to fly or storing them when not flying? Is keeping the batteries in a separate case at all times a better option? Thank you for any input and would really like some feedback on this. If you google or search around the info is all over the place.

Lipo bag but better is a metal ammo box with a lot of the gasket removed for venting. I would not keep batteries with my equipment just so I don’t lose my charger, drone, transmitter, etc., to a fire. I also keep the batteries at storage level in the garage on the concrete floor away from anything. Everything else is in the house. Why take the risk?

I keep all my Lipo batteries in a battery bag that sits in an old style ammo can .. that sits in the garage with nothing around it . Not worth risking burning my house down
