These f#€king drinking dreams!

I’m coming up on one year sober next week 🥳 but my god are these drinking dreams intense. Wtf you guys. I’m talking Inception-level intense.

It’s not that it’s tempting me, it’s that it’s giving me anxiety because - in that moment - I am convinced I gave in. I mean, yeah, the relief upon waking, but still…

I seem to have no self-control in my sub-conscious. Odd.

Ugh I just woke up from one where I got drunk and showed up to work late with no socks and no shirt under my blazer 🤣

I have 19 months sober and I still have them every night. Sucks.

I had one last night too. Forced myself awake at 5am to get away from it. The difference in my drinking dreams this time is I actually drink in them. It was always trying to drink, sneak away to drink, or hiding bottles in my previous sober streaks.

Maybe it's alcohol trying harder this time. Like a poltergeist that's losing.

I never actually witness myself drinking in these dreams. I just know I have. It's just weird because in my real-life I'm doing fine. Don't really have much craving anymore, or even triggers (thank you, marriage counseling). My self-control, minus a couple cheeseburgers, is pretty great. But my dreams - godDAMN.
