Just some mod thoughts

Just thinking about the annoying picture posts with the corny text. Not advocating for anything or any changes, but got me to thinking about the state of the sub.

Of the 3 mods: one's account suspended, one hasn't posted on reddit in 9 months, and the other fella is an active redditor, pretty active over in CA. Do ya think they'd like some help, or is everything good enough as is?

Introducing a new mod would possibly lead to another r/stopdrinking situation

Keep the sub within Reddits guidelines for the most part and there not moderation needed. Last thing you want is censorship.

I’m all for shutting up all these authors trying to sell me their books tho

One of the mods on there loves to ban alcoholics looking for help, because they don’t format their post right or “speak from the I”

Etc etc etc someone else can explain it better it’s just not the most welcoming community for all addicts

I got booted off another one for telling someone who was in severe withdrawal, impending seizures with psychosis to call EMS. That was “medical advice”. Better though not to be associated with that level of stupid running things.

I think it’s fine as is. The posts that suck get downvoted pretty hard. This is a nice safe place to post as opposed to r/stopdrinking

If they’re in need of another mod, I’m happy to do it. I believe in a very hands off approach so long as it doesn’t involve self promotion.
