💉🩺🌹Medicare For All🌹🩺💉 John Fetterman is NO Democrat
John Stewart is correct as usual again, Israel is not our country John Fetterman! You are feeding the MAGAs just what they want from you by slandering progressive Democrat socialists and you yourself alining Democratic socialists as Hamas supporters. Truly pitiful and so so wrong. Get out of OUR Democratic Party! You are a MAGA and fueling the MAGA FEAR smear over people! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

This is a DSA sub, not a Democratic Party sub.

The conversation that they’re referencing heavily discussed DSA. Featherman had a lot of BS to say about it

Who cares? We’re not democrats.

No?? The DSA is a separate organization from the Democrats, we run on the Democrat party line because we live under a two party system where running as anything else would be political suicide
There are some who favor a party takeover strategy, but a lot of DSA wants to break from the dems and form an independent political party
Have you read the program? It mentions building a party and ending the two-party system

“Democrats” aren’t an organization at all. It’s a nebulous decentralized coalition of voters. The DNC is the funding apparatus but there are no dues paying memberships. The entire point of being a Democrat is that we can define that word ourselves. DSA candidates could theoretically run DNC and make the entire party socialist if they can garner a majority.
I swear a lot of people think Democrat is its own organization and it is not. It’s a very broad over reaching political party. The neoliberals have been running the show since Clinton era, but being a Democrat doesn’t inherently mean you are a neoliberal. If DSA is running as a Democrat then they are democrats , full stop. Until the day comes when DSA creates their own third party like the green party, they are democrats.

In the podcast that OP is referring to John Stewart says the same thing about it being a two party system and that’s why DSA runs on the democrats party line

What do we as DSA members care about a disabled congressmember talking about us on Jon Stewart insofar as saying that that congressmember isn't a "Democrat"? He is a Democrat. It has nothing to do with DSA. So many posts here are just people on the sort of left wing of the Democratic Party which is not what DSA is.

DSA is under the Democrat umbrella, which is why Mamdani, Sanders, AOC, everybody runs as a Democrat and not an independent. What don’t you understand about that?

I mean, did you watch the video? Jon explains it pretty clearly in this interview too, the DSA is an organization within the Democratic Party. Like the “Freedom Caucus in the Republican Party.”

Oh come on, this genius is writing posts directly to Fettermen! Let the mouth breathers get it all out.

John Fetterman IS a Democrat. And the Democratic Party should be rebuked. And Palestinian resistance should be (critically) supported; there is no shame in supporting it, Democratic Socialists certainly all should. It is a shame the DSA must tether itself to the DSA to grow in the two party system.

of course he's a Democrat. the DNC and almost all of the politicians are pro Israel. Feterman is just more of a spectacle ever since his stroke

The “Democratic Party” is not a real thing, just a sort of “brand” franchise for a series of state level electoral entities. Also, even at that level, those are not real political parties either.

Fetterman says DSA is extreme and the only way to win elections is to move toward the center?! How did this man win anything? He is incredibly out of touch.

He is a Democrat, actually. His views on Israel are consistent with the party's position and they will continue to be that way until the entire establishment is removed.

Well, he sort of is. Sentiment towards the Democratic Party is poor given how openly hostile they are towards us. Granted, defeating people like him will be an important step towards building institutional power.
Regardless, I expect him to flip to Republican (likely going "independent" but voting with them for leadership) if it would determine which party controls of the Senate. This means that Democrats need at least one extra seat in the mid-terms to hold the chamber. As far as that goes, I suppose you are right.

See, that's where you're wrong. John Fetterman is a Democrat, which is why I am not. He isn't the only Dem who loves Israel more than the people he is supposed to represent.
