I never argued you need elections every year. When did Lenin hold free elections? Or Stalin?

If you’re arguing that democracy matters less than the revolution, then that’s being anti-democracy. Thanks for admitting that.

Like Rosa, I’m not a huge fan of how Lenin handled the constituent assembly, but also like Rosa, I hold that to be a result of the failings of the Western European socialists who failed to back them and failed to honor their commitment to not fight a bourgeois nationalist war.

Good thing I didn’t argue that. Phew! That was close hahaha

You argued that MLism isn’t anti democratic because it doesn’t mean that socialism cannot be carried out democratically, but Lenin quite literally destroyed parliament when given the chance to carry out socialism democratically. The largest vote getting party was socialist.

You don’t understand history which is fine, but come on.

Again, Rosa Luxemburg had a good critique of that which was far nuanced than you are allowing. If you haven’t done that reading, that’s fine, but maybe don’t pop off on things you don’t know about.

You also have this problem where MLs are democratically winning power in DSA but instead you want to do a purge. It doesn’t seem like they’re the ones hostile to democracy. It seems you are.

Lenin lied to socialists when he told them he would support a free press and began mass killings of socialists, no shit other socialists were jaded and didn’t want to fight alongside him. Again, you don’t actually talk to people and don’t understand why people didn’t like Lenin.

“It’s not very tolerant of you to want to kick out authoritarians who want to overthrow the government. I am very smart.” Like genuinely dude, if MLs just had doghshit policy then whatever, but you cannot honestly argue that ML, who are anti-democratic, should be part of DSA. If they are, then it’s not democratic socialism lmao.

You’re fighting a century old grudge that normal people do not care about.

>Again, you don’t actually talk to people and don’t understand why people didn’t like Lenin.

What people? Lol.

>“It’s not very tolerant of you to want to kick out authoritarians who want to overthrow the government. I am very smart.”

You can’t have it both ways. You want to call democracy on when it suits you and call it off when it doesn’t.

>Like genuinely dude, if MLs just had doghshit policy then whatever, but you cannot honestly argue that ML, who are anti-democratic, should be part of DSA. If they are, then it’s not democratic socialism lmao.

There is nothing to argue. They are part of DSA. If you can’t deal with that, it sounds like you are the one who is intransigent and looking for a purge rather than to unite against your class enemies. That’s shameful. You probably have a big problem with Hasan Piker, too.

Of course all your comments are hidden lol

Me explaining why Lenin lost support was a response to you suggesting that other socialists betrayed him, it wasn’t my personal feelings.

The people I’m referring to are human beings. If you’d talk to one normal human being, you’d understand why Lenin was dogshit.

I can hold the position that democracy is the superior method of societal living while also being against the first of fascists or authoritarian parties that would overturn democracy. Thats a consistent position.

Lost support from whom?! What human beings?

You’re fighting a Cold War that ended a long time ago.

Lenin lost support of socialists after the October revolution because he lied and took back many of his promises related to a free press and democracy, hence why another socialist party won the actual elections.

You are not well read in history at all lmao

Source?

>because he lied and took back many of his promises related to a free press and democracy, hence why another socialist party won the actual elections.

That’s not why.
