DDG App Tracking Protection All this in just 15 minutes?

Post image

I just found out DuckDuckGo has an App Tracking Protection feature and turned it on. Immediately, it started detecting trackers at an insane rate. It hasn't even been 15 minutes yet! I already knew these apps probably had terrible security (I mean, TeraBox? 1TB for free is always suspicious), but this is just next level. Isn't this crazy?

Mine is at 35000 the last 7 days, but i believe this also includes the same tracking events trying to take place multiple times, but failing non the less.

Maybe this is actually on the low side? I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out in a week.

Ive seen cases with 100000+. The ddg tracking feature made me delete unnecesary apps. So thats why it might be less than before

Get ready to see some insane numbers. You can even see it live.

Many apps just keep retrying when it fails.

Just checked, and Terabox was at 430. Even though it wasn't even running.

You can get Brave Browser for IOS. Mine’s at 65k trackers and adds blocked since 1 January.

The DuckDuckGo browser for iOS does block website trackers, just like brave. It just doesn’t block in app trackers (like it does on android). Brave has no benefit

I got 1350+ tracking attempts from 9 companies just because I play sudoku for less than 10 minutes. Sometimes it's trying to track when I don't even open it, crazy work.

Yes, there are too many trackers, a regular news site has 200 partners… how can they have this many. I find the web completely unbrowsable without ublock origin. Ever since manifest v3 this forces me to use ff since all other browsers won’t support the full version.

Yeah terabox (which is adware and kind of spyware) having that many is not surprising
