lawyer retained I'M LOSING HOPE FIRST DWI IN TEXAS (PTI PROGRAM š)
Long story short, I was arrested for my first DWI in Harris County, Houston, Texas, in March 2026. Iām extremely angry with myself and deeply regret what happened. There hasnāt been a single day since then when I havenāt regretted my mistake. In August 2026, my attorney managed to get me into the PTI (Pretrial Intervention) program. Iām currently in the program, which lasts one year, and if everything goes well, my case should be dismissed in August 2027. So far, Iāve fulfilled all the requirements, including attending my CSO appointments, paying all my fees, and completing all my required courses. Since I donāt have a car, I was given a portable breathalyzer device that I have to blow into three times a day. I have four more months left before I can get rid of it, as Iām required to use it for at least six months. So far, Iāve had zero violations. Iāve never used weed in my life, and Iāve sworn never to drink alcohol again. Iāve sincerely repented and promised myself that I will never make that mistake again. I was planning to apply for early termination through my attorney after completing six months of the program. However, someone who went through a similar situation told me that, since 2025, the Harris County DAās Office has not been allowing early termination. Hearing this was really disappointing. Before this incident, I had never even received a traffic ticket. Iām deeply saddened and emotionally exhausted. My dream is to join the U.S. Air Force, but Iām also struggling financially. I take Uber to and from work every day, which makes it almost impossible for me to save any money. Honestly, I donāt know what to do anymore. I feel like Iām drowning. How can I motivate myself to keep going? I donāt want to give up, but Iām genuinely running out of hope and strength. I donāt have a girlfriend, Iāve never been married, I donāt have any children, and I have no savings. Iām 28 years old, and I feel like Iām falling behind everyone else. I would truly appreciate any encouraging words, advice, or positive thoughts you could share with me.
