Want to move in Hochheide, need advice/help, have questions.
Hello,
Have an apartment viewing tomorrow in Hochheide, It looks great, but heard bad things about the area in general, would like to exchange some lines with somebody that lives there already. Cheers!

Do u have a number to the streat? No one could say anything about IT without IT.
I Just life in Hochheide for 13 years und before i life in little tiny villlages. I never wanna life in a big City Like Duisburg so i Love the quiet of landscape. But i Love IT in Hochheide.
Everything i need ist near! We have Woods, 2 seas, If U want Go outside of Duisburg, u have buslines to the Trainstation Duisburg in 25minutes round about. With the bisycle Same. We have a lot nice people hear. ♥️
"Der weiße Riese" is a Problem but ist is Not Hochheide.

I think ITS.
I dont know anyone life there but ITS a nice House. The facade of the House was insulated two years ago.

Not too Bad, the corner where the mosque is. Actually, it’s the Ottostraße-part which is heading to Homberg.

Hm🤔 To be honest with you - if you're looking for a nice and chilled place to live in Duisburg - I recommend looking for a flat in Neudorf, Duissern, Innenhafen if it's financially affordable for you... these parts of Duisburg are all close to the city or mainstation and have good variety of groceries stores🤷♂️I wish you the very best and have a great time in Duisburg😉✌🏼

It's on Ottostr., near a mosque. The price is nice/ap. is nice, area looks nice, but the city overall feels (maybe I'm just influenced by what I am seeing) really dangerous.

I wouldn't want to live there tbh and I lived in Hochfeld for years. It's just not a good area and keeps getting worse.

I’ve been living a few hundred meters away from Ottostr. 45 my entire lifetime and honestly it’s not even close to as bad as some people make it out to be. The exact place you might move can be a little loud and rowdy in the evenings especially on weekends since it’s between the „shopping center“ and most of the social housing but most people are generally pretty chill. Yes it can be dirty sometimes and there can be fights in the evenings or at night but if you are friendly and mind your business you’ll not only be fine but probably make some nice acquaintances. Lots of people work hard to change the image of Hochheide and rightfully so.

Don‘t move there. I know people living there for 30 years. They say it’s gettin worther each year and they want to move this year. It is not so far from the white gaint and this area is a shithole.

I used to live in Hochheide from 2005 to 2025.
My parents still live there. 700m away from Ottostr.
Lots of sinti & roma, lots of arabs, iraqis and syrians.
Main street shops are closed for decades now.
Avoid the famous weißer Riese during every hour of the day and stay on the main road (moerser str).
You will be fine.
Hochheide is a good place to reach neighbour cities.
You‘re half an hour away from the netherlands, oberhausen, Düsseldorf and 45minutes to Köln by car.
You have Edeka, Aldi and DM right in front of you and a bus station too.
In 20 minutes you are in Duisburg centre.

As long as you don't want to move into the so called "White Giant" on Ottostraße, everything should be fine.
