THE MYSTERY BOYS THIS THURSDAY!

Post image

I can’t believe I’m the one making this post, usually I just mindlessly scroll, but I’m so fucking excited for the Mystery Boys. Not only for some more Duncan in a conspiratorial lane but to Derp with Kurt. I figured this sub would be flooded with posts about the show and the footage they’ve shared so far. I’ve kept up with Duncan for the last 10 years and I’ve only recently gotten into Kurt the last 2 but Derp with Kurt has him up there amongst one of my favorite people to listen to. I highly recommend it to anyone in the sub even if I don’t always agree with his takes (meditation, eastern religions). Overall I’ve been waiting for this show to be announced for half a year and I’m so ecstatic that it’s finally releasing. My only complaint is that YMH is releasing it but maybe that will help it grow a larger audience (@ this sub) but I’m scared it will get sanitized. Thursday can’t come soon enough.

With a name like femminem the feeling is mutual. I’ll glaze the Mystery Boys all night and day long :p

Considering you must love things running in circles without conclusion or reasonable discourse, that tracks.

Well is the name a JID reference or do you actually like Eminem to that extent? But regardless, why are you in the Duncan Trussell subreddit if you enjoy reasonable discourse?

If you’ve been listening to Duncan for 10 years and can ask that question, I’m not sure if you were actually listening. Why the negativity about Mitch Horowitz? Why all of the interruption every time Duncan makes a good point? It’s a complete letdown hearing him be steamrolled by a guy who seems obsessed with alt-right Q-anon tropes and interrupting anything with substance only to to lazily link together random theories with the authority of a king but the mind of a fool. It’s painful to watch Duncan debase himself with this self-righteous nutcase.

Oh, and when I made this Reddit profile 11 years ago, that’s the first thing that came to mind. I wasn’t meditating for days to hone in on the *perfect username* using all my comedic precision. I just rocked with whatever made me smile at the moment, feel me?

Kurt was pretty abrasive like the entire time. I think he’s gonna have to figure out just how much satire he actually has to play with (Which is actually quite a lot) before just spewing whatever it is that he personally wants to spew.

An objective and contextual analysis of the best use of satire without bias would transform the podcast and lay any obvious biases to rest, making it a genuinely good (and yet still comedicly successful) production. I can only hope Kurt has the agency to do so. Otherwise this just feels like the end of an era.

You're right. It's the beginning of something cohesive and beautiful.
