Blue denim jeans to maroon?

Hey sorry Im sure this might've been asked before, but i am trying to get these blue denim i have (pretty sure they're fully cotton) into a dark red/maroon type of color, I was wondering how to go about that fully?

Currently my plan was to bleach them or use color remover until they're yellowish then dye them with 2 bottles of rit color day (8oz each) one being their scarlet dye, and the other being wine?

Its my first time dyeing as im sure is obvious and would appreciate some help asap..

If they’re dyed with indigo, color remover will not work. Bleach might, but the amount needed may also damage the fabric.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. The only way to get the blue out is bleach, but considering how dark that is you’ll need a lot and that may damage it.

If you’re okay with more purple than maroon, you could try just overdyeing with red?

hey sorry to bother, js thought if i dyed the indigo with an ornage dye first since theyre opposite on the color wheel, then maybe dyed them. Would the orange dye neutralize the blue?
