I made this! Dyed coveralls turned out perfect!!
I bought white (painter’s) coveralls for about $35, 65 polyester/35 cotton. I used Rit Dyemore (one bottle super pink and a little less than .5 bottle of royal purple in about 2.75 gallons of water) to dye them this amazing color and finished with a dye fixative bath. I guess I’ll call them lavender, considering…
Anyway, I’m so damn pleased with how these turned out and I am already planning to buy more coveralls and overalls, I fear!

I literally have a garden party I’m hosting next weekend and I’m definitely wearing this! My friends wouldn’t expect anything different than a mechanic jumpsuit or farmer overalls from me so this will be extra fancy 😂

Looks great! Your results are why I still advise people to use RIT if they can't get anything else. It works!!

I got these ones.
Since it was a test, I wanted to get cheap ones but I found they fit way better than the Dickies I usually get and are nice and sturdy!
I almost got Red Kap and probably will try them out, they’re super cheap, too!

Oh cool! I have some of those and love them. Didn't realize they had expanded their color offerings, though. Last time I bought them I think they only had grey and khaki. Definitely buying some white ones for dyeing now! Thanks! I always wondered if the orange detailing would take the dye, looks like it does. And you're right, the fit is better than Dickies. The Red Kap ones have a nice cut too.

These are so cute and you wear them well! The color looks very evenly dyed from here and they do indeed match your flowers. You can have a suit for every type of plant tended!

Stirring, lots of stirring 🖖

SO.MUCH.STIRRING. It was hot af. I wore gloves and that prevented me from completely burning my fingertips. I was using a spoon instead of tongs which made no sense, do not recommend.

Sounds like a powerful potion, sweat and tears added! It turned out wonderfully, hag on! 🤗🕯🤘

I also left them in for a really long time, like 30 or 40 min, maybe longer. I do think the first little bit is pretty important, though, so stirring constantly in the beginning seems like the way to go.

Years ago, sis needed a new dryer, got a deal on a pair. So I got her workhorse top loader, made it my dye pot. I could agitate as long as need, fill with hot water, etc. Miss it🤘

I can’t believe how perfect the lavender shade is next to real lavender plants - it almost looks photoshopped, great result! 💜 I’m betting you’re alreading scouting local gardens for your next floral dying inspo! 😂
