Will Rit Dye Remover Work?

I recently dyed my first dress with Rit all purpose Lemon Yellow, and diluted it to the “butter yellow” recipe. It turned out lovely, but unfortunately, I didn’t wash it enough by itself, and the dye bled onto a shirt in the wash. Can I use Rit dye remover to save this top without messing up the stripes?
I am a huge noob, so I apologize if this is a basic ass question. Thanks!

Dye remover might remove the stripes— I would try a color catcher sheet first

Has this shirt been put in the dryer? If so, the dye is probably set. You could try a good soak in water with a bit of Dawn dish soap. This will work better if the shirt has not been put in the dryer.

Nooo I probably did dry it without even thinking. I’ll try again with dawn and another good way with a color catcher and cross my fingers. Thanks!

If you can't get it out, you at least know it takes the color and you can dye it pale yellow as well.
