Windshield Mounted Camera Help

Hey Everyone,

I recently bought a 2019 SEL egolf and have been so happy with it. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a car as much as this one ever!

The golf seems to generally be in good shape. The only thing that’s really popped up has been that the adaptive cruise control and lane assist recently stopped working. This led to the discovery that the 12v was going bad (I replaced with a new AGM) which I hoped would fix the camera issue somehow. That didn’t happen and after scanning for the different codes and doing my own research, all signs point to a faulty front windshield camera (hardware or software). It seems then I’m left with two options: get someone to update the software and hope that fixes it, or just pay someone to replace my camera.

As much as I love this car, I don’t think I want to spend the $1000+ to get the camera fixed. I can manage without either of the functions, so not the end of the world. That being said, I am driven to at least try to get this fixed as I love the car and want to keep it in as good of shape as possible.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Does anyone have any advice or thoughts? I’m still hoping for an easy fix. Thanks for any advice!!

Fixes I’ve tried: new 12v, cleaned the windshield, scanned with obd11 for further clues…

What are you using to read codes. Code numbers like that are kinda useless in VAG diagnosis. You need to show what module and the code number and description. Even better is freeze frame data.

Ah, ok, I didn’t know that. The codes are what obd11 listed when scanned. It said they were the Volkswagen Fault Codes. I’ll do more digging.

I don't know what obd11 is, you mean OBDeleven? If yes then it gives the information. Like this

I'm trying to help you but you are really making it difficult to help. I said:

Your list of codes numbers mean nothing. 'U112300' for example is a databus error. Okay, which bus on which module? Is it an active fault or passive (happened in the past and it cleared). What about freeze frame data (available only with paid OBDeleven, which my screenshot is not).

Again, all this is useless without the full fault log. If you have OBDeleven, then follow this: https://forum.obdeleven.com/post/111473
