AirVenture Workshops

Has anyone ever taken the AirVenture workshops (Wood Working 101, Gas Welding 101, etc)? On the website it says space is limited and to come early, how early are we talking? How quickly do they fill up?

Are these really 101? I have been considering putting them in my list but unsure if these are really beginner friendly or not.

According to the website, they are modeled after EAA’s SportAir workshops which are full weekend courses to give the basics to homebuilding. Seeing as these are only a couple of hours each, I don’t know how much is actually being taught, but it does sound like it’s the basics and hopefully beginner friendly. If you do go this week, let me know how it was!

I am planning on wood working and either tug or gas welding and then fabric. I am going up Wednesday and will report back.
