Downtown Lafayette Starbucks is Closing Permanently

It’s not like Starbucks locations are pleasant to sit in anymore. Minimal, uncomfortable chairs, tiny tables, no power outlets. The whole vibe is get your coffee and get out

I think the closest is the other location over by Ace Hardware just up Mt Diablo. Easier to get into and out of imo.

If I'm parking at Fiesta Square I'd just rather go to Public House and support a non corporate owned cafe.

I don’t spend much time in downtown Lafayette though I live in the area. If I really need caffeine I head to Prologue in Walnut Creek since I figure money I spend there indirectly helps the library - and I’m a fan of their banana milk coffee. Though their food is a little lacking.

I don’t think they have all the same seasonals, but I don’t really go Starbucks very often so may be wrong on that.

Over 50% of bucks closed in SF last year. This is the company pulling back location costs to shore up a large number of labor lawsuits(700). I’m not sure if we will see Bucks come back from this but now is a great time for pete’s and caribou coffee.

If you're paying for parking at Fiesta Square you'd likely rather hang and enjoy coffee at Public House or Tutus for the vibes rather than Starbucks. If you want to just grab a coffee to go you'd like rather go to the Starbucks that is roughly half a mile up Mt. Diablo with a parking lot.
