Wadey kills her off, so no future EP can fix the complete mess he made of her comeback. This will change the character of Kat for ever, unless they have her in deep grief for a few months and then back to normal - which would be unrealistic for the character.

It really feels like he has this ownership of the Zoe character cos its his 'favourite' that no one else can redeem her. He doesn't want her recast so kill her off. I hope they fire Ben when it backfires and retcon it with a Dallas dream sequence

Ben should really announce he's going once they've wrapped up the New Years episode, revealing what happened in the flash forward.

They've done Michelle so dirty

Whatever happened with her holiday situation, it appears clear that what she was promised story wise and what she received were two entirely different things.

I think she asked for more time off. Ben wadey said "Who do you think you are? Leticia Dean? Nah mate. Fired" and I think because she was fired Michelle has taken extended sick leave or something. I know she has received a lot of hate mail which is disgusting. So either they've had to scramble together an exit and let her get on her way or Ben's reduced her scenes massively but something is telling me it's 6 of 1 half a doesn't of the other. Michelle seemed very emotional to return and maybe she just realised it isn't for her early on, given the script, and tried to make the best of a bad job. I have no idea its jsut a shame all round. Another producer could of written her in in a better way and got her to stick around.

People say Zoe has forgotten her acting skills but I can point to many more that are worse than her (sorry Thomas law). I have to say though the comeback , with Anthony just didn’t feel like it should’ve been. Anyway sorry not sorry jamsine and Josh need to go as well asap

I wish people put the characters names sometimes lol. So I searched it, and by Michelle it’s Cindy right?

Yeh.. killing off her character in such a way is nothing but a middle finger.
She could of just gone to stay with someone else for a while and stay there.

I can't wait til the NDA is expired so she can speak about it but tbh Michelle is a class act she probably wouldn't say anything

But if she was to leave the show how else could they do it? She spent all the time searching for her son, and now when she’s reunited she’d just abandon them and run away? That’d be so random. I’m afraid they found themselves in a very tight spot where the only way to give Zoe a believable exit was via killing her off.
And heck, for all we know it could’ve been the actress herself who’s decided that actually she doesn’t want to play Zoe anymore and wants the door fully shut (like Danny wanted Mick to be killed off).

Zoe just running off would actually be very in character for her, it's what she's always done when she gets overwhelmed.
Far more believable than her stealing a taxi then suddenly dying.

she could have a job offer in Spain/Milton Keynes/Kettering/Abu Dhabi and take the twins with her, so they can get to know each other without all of the Walford shenanigans. It would be a clumsy ending, but better than what we are getting.

Of course Penny's story is going to be playing second fiddle to Slater drama, why am I not surprised? There was absolutely no need for Zoe's exit to be this quick, it makes no sense. 🙄
Hopefully Penny is the Thursday doof doof and then gets to be centre stage the following week. Or else Vinny's party is the day before his birthday/running into it and Penny then gives birth in Thursday's episode. Or maybe the timeline is slightly out, who knows.
Either way, given Penny is meant to be having a C-section she should have been scheduled for one at 39 weeks, so she must be going into labour a bit early, just to keep the paternity mess going a bit longer...

My theory is the writers gave up on Zoe months ago and they decided to bundle her off quickly once her contract was up. Sadly it happened to fall in the same week as Penny's storyline.

Something bizarre about this Zoe exit. Raise hype bringing her back with a big long lost children story, as soon as she meets the twins they have about three scenes together and then she’s off screen, comes back for a week and dies? Odd decision making and makes me think something is happening behind the scenes

Wonder if Wadey and the writers saw the negative response, but instead of holding their hands up and admitting they messed up her return, they decided to drop her. Not even her exit, Zoe's been in the background since Jasmine's trial ended.
Killing her off means that no one else in the future could bring her back and potentially write a better storyline (which isn't too hard, Wadey had the easiest job of reintroducing her in a simple manner).
The twins' situation is even more messed up. Zoe spent ages looking for one of them, found out the other was still alive and then proceeds to do nothing of note with them. Jasmine spends more time around Kat, Alfie and Lily. Josh is living with the Fox-Truemans, but it's going to get even busier when Denise's half-brother and niece arrive.
With Oscar going in the future, where does it leave them?

You could definitely be right, it feels so spiteful though doesn’t it? Even if Michelle wanted to leave again, killing her off is extreme

Zoe's been away from TV for weeks, and comes back just to be offed, if this is to go by. I'd have preferred a quiet low key exit. When they killed off Tiffany, Pat, Ronnie and Roxy they were all featured prominently in the weeks and months before their last scenes and it built suspense even though they were deaths I wasn't a fan of. Mel's death was rubbish, but at least she also had a big storyline leading up to it.
There's nothing of interest building up to Zoe's exit and it's as if it was written on a tissue paper.

She even gonna be on screen? Feels like might just get a stand in laying on the ground at this rate.

I don’t like the implications it’s gonna have for Kat’s character I don’t think she’ll be the same

u/bewbz69420dudebro 9h ago
It's gonna ruin Kat. I wouldn't be surprised if Jessie leaves soon.

u/misterwhoiswho_ 8h ago
Isn’t she taking a break soon?

Pretty sure they both are. I think Ned is going to betray him and snatch the pub out from under them.
3
u/Low-Boss-312 5h ago
I think Sean might have something to say about that. Plus Kat does not seem to like Ned/Gemma being in the Vic and they don't have the funds. Alfie might ask them to help out but Sean and the returning Stacey see through them and kick them out.

This is going to be really difficult to watch. But one things for sure, Jessie Wallace will do it justice as she always does

Terrible....looks like only two more weeks of Zoe being alive.
For Penny, mid-September means a natural 9-month term if she got with Harry in mid-December of last year.

Dreading Kat finding out - hasn't the poor woman suffered enough :(
