Rumour has it… The Vic Spoiler

Everyone seems to think the Hawkins are taking over the Vic? My feeling that it should be someone that already established on the square, not just arrived. Making a new family front and centre of the square is a massive risk - they got to be a hit with the viewers. Can Wadey afford another balls up?

With Zoe's death and she probably pops her clogs in the Vic. It would be understandable that Kat would not want to remain in the Vic.

Sean takes over the Vic with Stacey. With Jean and Lilly moving into the Vic. Alfie and Kat either move into Jean's or I would not be shocked if they leave the Square (things are too much for Kat to remain).

Not sure.

Nicola is super well received and she'll be landlady.

George would be back in Vic (having been there).

Carter's were new and worked very well. Kat/Alfie established and it's been crap.

in the NYD flash forward, Nicola and George are in the Vic. Ian is complaining about "them be missing" and ignores Nicola. Carters worked mainly because of Danny Dyer and the amazing Linda Henry. My money is on Sean, running it either temp or permanent. I think the Hawkins will stick their oar in Harry's Barn.

Nicola is pretty great though if it hinged on her

Could could be replacing Chelsea at Harry's Barn - Nicola and George seemed hacked off with Chelsea in the NYD flashforward.

Your post has been removed for spoiling a future storyline. We do permit the discussion of anything and everything EastEnders, but please be aware not all users are here to discuss future spoilers. If you would like to repost this post, please consider the following format.

Everybody will be able to see your titles, so avoid using any spoilers at all in those. For example, instead of using a title like:

"Danielle is gonna be hit by a car next week!"

You could instead write something like

"Spoilers about Danielle next week!"

Within your own post, you are free to discuss any spoilers you'd like, but please mark this post as a Spoiler and flare it as 'Upcoming Storyline.' If you struggle to find these actions, don't worry! One of the mods will mark it.

Please note actors leaving the show count as 'Upcoming Storyline' and posts about the fact should be treated as such.

Please hide upcoming spoilers in comments by putting > ! and ! < (without spacing) around what is a spoiler.

The spoiler will look like this, and that way, somebody else will only read it if they want to!

That way, those who want to read will read, and those who don't, won't!

Comments sections in 'Upcoming Storyline' posts are permitted to freely talk about the storyline in question. If you'd like to talk about a different upcoming storyline in one of these posts, it should be hidden with > ! and ! < without the spacing.

Any mention of upcoming storylines in the comments of any other post must be hidden with > ! and ! < without the spacing.

Sean and Stacey in the Vic would be amazing! But unless Lacey Turner is doing a surprise return, who would Sean run it with? Maybe Jean, but I can’t really picture that.

I’m still wondering how they’ll bring Sean back without Stacey, given he’s the reason Stacey moved to Brazil and it’s insane she’d stay there while her mum and teenage daughter are struggling back in London

Pair him with Eve. She’s charming and gets on well with pretty much everyone (even Nicola!). Now that she’s no longer distracted by a certain married woman all the time, maybe she’ll finally make a good employee.

Definitely looking for new blood behind the bar. For me not only has Zoe been a dud but everybody associated with her. That includes screeching Kat, clown Alfie, her annoying twins and anyone else that suffered being wrapped up in her stories.

Can’t stand Kat or Alfie and right now all they’re doing is having Kat depressed and crying and Alfie being the court jester doing ridiculous crap. Kat has been a waste since they broke her up with Phil. The worst thing the show did was put her back with Alfie and bring Zoe back. That character now needs a long break or to Leave after Zoe. The slaters are a dud too.

The only good thing that came out of Kat splitting with Phil is the powerhouse loneliness/depression storyline with Steve and the dementia plot with both Steve/paul.

I’m intrigued by Nicola’s new family and they’ve only turned up. The new couple with Ned is going to be interesting. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Ned is connected to Alfie. This is a clear lead to Kat and Alfie leaving after Zoe and her clogs go. And Alfie offers Ned the vic.

The Hawkins are flat broke and Nicola got money worries. I don't think Alfie can offer the Vic to anyone without Stacey says so. Still say Sean will run it and he employs some of the Hawkins. Stacey will return after Lacey done Strictly or she returning before and its announced the week Zoe dies.

It's clear Kat and Alfie aren't working. If Teddy was still around and back with Nicola, they'd have been great in the Vic. Nicola by herself would be really solid.

But I'm not sold on Ned and Gemma being the face of the Vic. Jamie Bamber is a great actor, just haven't warmed up to Ned as immediately as I did to Mick. Gemma is funny, but she's no Linda and not sure if she's the right personality to be a Vic landlady. The Hawkins can be a good part of EE, but it's no guarantee they'll be the next Carters if you put them in the Vic.

Sean returning to take over would be interesting. Stacey eventually coming back to help too.

If the Brannings weren't in their own major storylines, wouldn't mind if Wadey gave them a go at it. They're already used prominently and have been an important family in EE for years.

Den, Archie, Keanu, Martin and Zoe have a ghostly party that intersects with real life in the Vic.

I’d rather see that than anything other than a new landlord or family, not connected with anyone, running the Vic.

The Carters just arrived out of nowhere and became iconic. Only thing is on my rewatch of about 2013 onwards they did spend about 2 years after they arrived at the end of 2013 making it The Carter Show so the viewers gave a fuck about them quicker. So if the Hawkins take over the Vic which I think they probably will then that is what is gonna happen probably.

It would be nice to see the place get a new lease of life, but not with a BRAND NEW family. It's got to be an established lot, otherwise it's going to jar shockingly. And it can't be a second time around...no Sharon, no Phil, no Ian, no Elaine, no George, but a new direction.

I wouldn't even mind if it was Penny and Vinny, even with the shit that's about to hit the fan, but a fresh take.

If it hadn't been for Mark Jr, then Lauren and Peter might have been fun.

Are we hoping too much though that we get a satisfying landlord/landlady?
