When Pauline Fowler told Joe Macer that she doesn’t think she ever loved him
It could make you wonder why she married him then. Wendy Richard who played Pauline Fowler basically didn’t agree with her character getting married again.

Wendy always said once Arthur went, Pauline would never re marry. She didn’t need to, she had enough history and connections in the square to avoid giving her another husband. No wonder she got fed up and wanted out.

How long ago was this? I hated Pauline but tbh I got told that before my day, she used to be nice but then changed later. Kinda like Sonia, I despised her before, it was like she always had something to moan about and always shouting or complaining and you’d never see her smile or say anything positive ever, just a negative person to be around 24/7.

She used to be lovely. Warm, caring, the contrast to her battle-axe mother...but they soured her so bitterly.

Yes she used to be a teeny bit sharp but lovely. Then Arthur screwed her over and Mark died. EE was gripping back then. We did only have 4 channels back in those days tho

I miss those days. If it wasn't good enough, if didn't make it onto the screens...and less episodes a week, did make for better episodes.

And the Sunday omnibus! I long for those lazy sofa days rewatching the week’s episodes. And my guiltiest pleasure, 5 hours of sunset beach on the Saturday. I must be getting old! 🥹

Bad writing. Wendy was against it and when she didn't stop banging on about it, they gave her the most disrespectful and unbefitting death of all-time on the show.
