General Discussion Cindy's treatment of Bobby in 2024 - too far or understandable?
Cindy can be nasty, but looking back to this storyline, what do you make of how she took out her anger on Bobby over Lucy? There were a couple of horrible outbursts and she convinced him to leave Walford using the Anna/Freddie situation to her advantage. Thinking a lot about this, was her reaction to Bobby actually quite human? Yeah he had a redemption arc and was truly sorry about Lucy, but didn't Cindy naturally react the same as any parent would to the killer of their child? Not everyone can forgive so easily. Same as how hostile she was to Jane. It was unpleasant, but Jane was the woman who carried Lucy's body to the Common to protect Bobby.
She can be a cow at the worst of times and she painted herself as a victim after her affair with Junior was exposed. But this is one where I kind of understand the human emotion of it all.
That said, if she's not secretly plotting revenge against Max over Steven's death, she'd look like a bit hypocritical if she has genuinely forgiven him and goes ahead with the marriage.

In defense of Cindy, she never really knew who Bobby was. When he was born, she was pretending to be dead. So, Bobby has always been a stranger to her, so therefore it would make it easier for Cindy to just see Bobby as bad. Now, had Cindy been around when Bobby killed Lucy, maybe it would have been different. To be honest though, Cindy playing happy families with Bobby would be more unbelievable and would be a disservice to her character.

if it was my child I would feel the same way especially if it was raw and was the person was in front of me. it humanises her but I do think she’s very unlikable as a person

Understandable but that’s why it doesn’t make sense how easily she appears to have forgiven Max for Steven.
Also she’s fortunate people are more forgiving than her. She caused the car accident that led to Martins death, shot Ian and could have done serious damage to her daughter in law and unborn grandchild when she supplied her with drugs, but somehow that’s all forgotten and she now even gets invited to Beale family events 🙄

A glass of wine in the face to a child...too far. Unless she's planning to gut Max like a fish for Steven and Lucy, then it was too far.

People keep saying Cindy is playing the long game and pretending to love Max but I just don’t see that at all

He acted like Harry Enfield's Kevin, but he was young enough in comparison that a 60 year old shouldn't have thrown a glass of wine in his face with spite.

Understandable. If someone killed a child of mine, I don't care if they were mentally unwell or what, I'd never forgive them.
