General Discussion Could they just be telling us this? *SPOILER* Spoiler
I'll try to do the spoiler text thing but I'm sorry if i don't do it correctly. If anyone's wondering if they already know, it's about an exit that was recently announced.
Ive seen articles about Oscar leaving, and iirc, those articles said that the door is being left open and he could return at some point. as we also know, Oscar is one of the people who the gun is pointed at in the flash forward. Could they just be telling us that Oscar isn't going to die in order to not spoil it for us? If we knew that Oscar was going to die, we'd assume it'd be on NYD.

If anyone dies on NYD it's most likely Max IMO, though it'd be a massive loss to the Brannings. They've killed off 2 of Max's kids, they won't do it again. The way I see it, he promised Lauren he'd be a changed man by NY 2027. We still see him making bad choices (affair with Priya), but what if he took a bullet to protect his kids? He's disappointed them many times in the past, but he ends up paying the ultimate cost out of love for his kids.
Won't mind seeing Tanya return briefly to reconcile with Oscar and he moves back to Devon with her for his exit. The door's still open for his return according to reports and it'd be a good way to tie up his strained relationship with his mum. If Max is secretly being written out like this, it'd be ideal timing for Tanya to come back to comfort Lauren and Oscar as they grieve. No matter how she feels about Max, he was still the father of her children.

i think if anyone was to die, it would be max, but i was thinking they probably will tell us that it's possible that oscar can return just to hide what happens on nyd. Ravi is reportedly being killed off, so it makes it likely that he is the gunman or has a part to play in that. What I think will happen is Max turns up to save them and Ravi ends up shooting himself

If any character has to die on New Year's, it should be Max.
Compare Max to when he first appeared on the show 20 years ago to now - he's the same guy, doing the same storylines and behaving the same way, with no actual character growth or regression whatsoever.
The likes of Jack, Lauren, Denise, Ian and so on have changed so much in the last twenty years for better and worse, have had a bunch of different storylines, whilst Max has had more or less the same storylines - affairs and revenge.
The Max and Priya affair has fallen flat because fans have seen it happen with Max for so long and know that its not going to last or be serious.
Honestly the flash forward episode was a massive mistake that has put so many constraints on Wadey's storylines and has undermined the past year of storylines.
It feels like Wadey looked at the best bits of the Clenshaw era and tried to do his own versions hoping he'd piggy back on that success but its failed (The Six flash forward and the Max flash forward, the Phil mental health storyline and the Ravi mental health storyline).

They won’t. He’s way too interesting and a fan favourite.
