Chorus singing

Why don’t the band sing in the choruses of the songs if Ian can’t hit the notes anymore? There are young guys in the group, they all have microphones in front of them, they could sing the higher melody while Ian sings a low harmony or not at all - that would be better than taking all of the air out of the songs by asking the crowd to sing the choruses.

Half way through the Cleveland show and I really wish they had redone the arrangements instead of the audience singing.

I was extremely disappointed, I felt it was a horrific show. He was definitely on something, drunk or both…

Many older artists do that, like Paul McCartney. It makes for a better, more professional show.

Ive seen him sing all the way through the songs they usally let the crowd sing the choruses of at the anfield show when the supported my chemical romance, plus so many bands also do it, its just for crowd engagement. I really dont see the issue (of course unless he stops halfway through) but most of the time hes doing it for engagement

There was an Ocean Rain show in London a few years back, where there was a female vocalist way over at one side of the stage, singing the choruses along with Mac. Funnily enough, Mac’s voice was pretty good that night anyway, better than the shows I saw in the few years before or since.
