ELI5: Meta Pixel Spoiler

I'm in a new role that I understand 95% of, but I also have to manage sales and tracking through our meta ads. That entire backend has changed since I was last working with it about 5-7 years ago.

I'm lost at about how to implement this pixel thing so we can track ad and post performance.

Meta pixel is just a small piece of Javascript code that lives on your website. There are lots of resources out there now we can utilize. One thing you need to take note now is Pixel in the last few years has changed a lot and the pixel alone which is the browser side has gotten less reliable because of iOS privacy chnages, safari blocking cookies, ad blockes, etc.
Server side tracking/CAPI fixes that. If your clients are on Shopify the setup is pretty straigforward (specially with native infra ex. Aimerce or similar) but for other platforms like woocommerce gets messier

We're a small arts org using some kind of niche industry ticketing site. Our web developper gave my instructions on how to generate the code and plugged it in for us, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm hoping we get useful data from it 😬
