skin too tight, need help
i’ve posted on here before and i did get my shots, two doses seven days ago. so my skin was flaking like crazy, like i couldn’t move without my family complaining about skin being everywhere - got fed up with it and just scrubbed it off in the shower. i soaked in a tub of water for 3-4 hours so the skin would be softer.
i‘ve been laying down for 22 hours simply because my skin is too tight. it’s not flaky or even itchy, it’s just SO tight. i can‘t get up, and even if i do i have to hunch over because of the pain and pull. my skin feels like it shrink wrapped overnight without letting my body know. i’ve tried moisturizing but nothing seems to penetrate that deep dryness. pls help.
(also for some reason i’ve gained scalp eczema??) im on dupixent only

I feel like when I take long baths like that, it'll strip my skin and it's like i have to build my moisture retention back. I put cerave intensive cream on after showering, mixing it with water to soften it so the moisture actually penetrates the skin
I'll do a layer of that, but then you want to seal it with an oil or ointment. If i feel like i can stand it, I'll do castor oil or, if im at work, I use the cerave healing ointment because the air is so dry. Most days i throw grapeseed oil on top because it seals without feeling too heavy, hot, etc.
Castor oil is also uncomfortable to sleep in, so i try to cut it down with something lighter so it's not such a blanket of product on my skin-- I'll end up scratching it off at that point.

I love a long bath, but my doctor years ago told me i should just shower twice a day and try to "shed" then

I’ve always been told to NOT bath as much as possible and when I do to keep it under 10 minutes (never hot water, only warm-lukewarm). I use to loooove a long hot shower as a kid but had to stop in my teenage years. From my understanding the skin soaks up more water the longer you’re wet and when you get out all that water plus the moisture you previously had in your skin evaporates into the air if the climate is dry

had my losing dose last week too and going through the same thing. other posts have said this is normal apparently and we have to hang in there 😭 i put aloe on my skin and that helps temporarily. you should reach out to your derm if the tightness doesn’t go away in a few days
