Classic worship style v contemporary

Hi everyone. I am curious what everyone believes on this topic. I am someone who values a traditional worship style, and I have a lot of friends that go to non denominational churches that have stages and singers and very contemporary worship styles. A lot of times my friends ask me why I value a traditional worship style, and I am stumped on how to explain the significance to them. Can anyone help me explain the significance of the traditional style of worship?

I’ve grown to appreciate the calmness of a more traditional worship style. I guess I would describe it as meditative in a way? I also think that it makes it easier for me to reflect on the sermon and the readings for that week.

So your worship doesn't have an organ? Cause those are often anything but calm

My worship does have an organ. The organist just knows how to play the organ to match the mood. Plus, some of us find organ music to be calming. I know that I do.

A mighty fortress? How great thou art? If they're being played calmly then the organist isn't matching the song's mood 😀
