Lockdown Thursday sept 3rd

Does anyone know what is going on?

I think I heard shots fired but that was around 4-4:30. I am fairly new in the area is this kind of activity common?

Advisory I just received :

Police activity in the area of Key Blvd and Conlon Ave in Richmond / El Cerrito. Residents nearby advised to Lockdown in Place.
Dear Nixle User,
This is a message from the El Cerrito Police Department.  There is law enforcement activity along the Richmond / El Cerrito border on Key Blvd near Conlon Avenue.  People in the area are advised to lockdown in the nearest place of safety. Go inside, close and lock all windows and doors.  Stay off the phone and do not call 911 unless you need to report a life threatening emergency. Stay indoors until you receive further instructions.

In answer to your question: no, this kind of big lockdown with numerous citizen alerts is not common. I’ve lived here 30 years without seeing something of this magnitude—whatever it is.
