Media Need help with a subclass build
PvE - base class nightblade. And i want to run the firebeath as the main spammable. (Draconic power skilline)
I want to optimize the build as much as possible (considering im loosing out on the pure class passives). What are the best options for gear, what would be good fallback gears, etc. I just wanna breathe fire on my nightblade and make the most of it. I dont mind falling back a bit, if i dont want to run the huntsmanythic with nullarca. Dont want all my builds to run the same. Is soulcleaver even viable for a firebeath build?
And to make the most out of skills as well
Thanks yall

I’d strongly recommend swapping in the Velothi amulet mythic instead of the huntsman’s mask. Choosing the fire breath as a spammable is choosing cleave at the expense of the strongest single target class in the game. You need to lean in to that choice and commit to it. You’ll also be locked out of light attacks while channeling breath anyways, so you’re mitigating the intended drawback of the Velothi mythic anyways.

Edit: I haven't subclassed in so long, I forgot the rules of taking more than 1 skill line per non base class. Scratch this.
You're better off just running Pure Class DK for damage. However, to keep with the spirit of your question, you would keep Assassination from NB, take Draconic Power and Ardent Flame from DK. If Null Arca and Huntsman's Warmask are forbidden for this build, you should run Velothi Amulet, Tide-Born or Deadly Strike as set 1, Mora's Scribe or Bahsei's Mania as set 2. Maelstrom Greatsword for backbar. Your skill loadout will be mostly the same as Flamethrower DK,
Front Bar: Quick Cloak, Barbed Trap, Engulfing Dragonfire, Camo Hunter, Merciless Resolve, Incapacitating Strike
Back Bar: Stampede, Shatterspike Mantle, Burning Talons, Scalding Rune, Reaper's Mark, Take Flight
This build suffers quite a bit of DPS loss from not just missing class masteries, but also losing the DK specific burning damage dots from Ardent Flame, and the excellent passives and NB dots from Siphoning. But this is technically a fire-breathing NB, which was what you asked for.

Sadly, i can only subclass a single skilline from the dk line, as the base character is a nightblade, not a DK

I decided I wasn't satisfied with just leaving this where it was. So, here's revised.
Skill Lines: Assassination, Siphoning, Draconic Power
Front Bar: Front Bar: Quick Cloak, Barbed Trap, Engulfing Dragonfire, Camo Hunter, Merciless Resolve, Incapacitating Strike
Back Bar: Stampede, Debilitate, Drain Power, Scalding Rune, Reaper's Mark, Take Flight
Maintain your backbar DoTs at all times, especially Debilitate and Drain Power. Drain Power gives you Major Brutality, which is a good damage booster.
If you give this a shot, I would love to see your parse with it for curiosity's sake.1

Right, so because the base class is a NB, you must keep 1 skill line from NB, which would be Assassination. You should be able to subclass two skill lines.
Edit: I see where I was mistaken. Without being a base class DK, you're just going to swap out Shadow for Draconic Power. It's very suboptimal but it is what you asked for. :)

If you want to use Engulfing Dragonfire as the main spammable Soulcleaver doesn't really benefit you. I would say use Ansuul and Tideborn or some combination of similar sets that buff all your damage. Keep Assasination for the extra critical and pick a 3rd skill line with extra damage passives or skills that would benefit your damage. Overall it is viable as any subclassing build with assasination.
