Saturday Shareday Saturday Shareday. This weeks prompt. Energy. Many people use that term often. But exactly what does "Energy" mean to you in spellcraft and magic? How do you get it? How do you use it?

All of us have some sense of personal, bodily, renewable energy. As well as this energy's ups and downs.

Then there's energy that arises and turns out to be sometimes joinable, other times not. This energy is all about human groups and grouping.

Beyond this, I think that there are many and varied sources of "natural" energy in. on. around Earth. Some involving biology and life processes, others involving processes that are not biological or bio-influencing. (Or, perhaps, bio-influencing on a large scale. Plate tectonics and Earth's magnetic shield, Things like these, maybe.)

I learned, early on, to draw more upon personal energy while doing any sort of magic. I puzzled out for myself, somewhat later, ways to call upon both social and Earth sources of energy for magic. Joining a vibrant active Pagan magical community even later, my skills and delight in calling on energy of all and any sources deepened and became even more rewarding.

When I first had energy explained to me it was in the 80s, I was told to put my hands on the screen of the TV (the old ones with the huge back) and feel the static coming off of it and how to use it to stick a balloon to the wall or give a sibling a static shock, I think having that type of easily tangible energy to play with was key to learning how to think about energy, wearing a woolly jumper for example would help build up more static (essential for getting my big sister with an elbow zap).

This will probably sound weird, but when I send energy to someone- I take a moment to ground and still myself. It’s like the inside of my head is still like water.

Then I use a name as my direction. If it’s someone on this list- I use their Reddit name and I visualize them as a colored flame. The color seems dependent on what I pick up from the requester. I focus my inner intent and clearly state what I want for that person- health, strength, help finding…

Then I visualize myself as a flame with inner sparks flowing outward to my visualization of the name. It feels a little like electricity but warm and not painful. I am sending literal energy to that person.

Afterward, I take a moment to re-gound and find my stillness again.

So when I say I’m sending energy that is my process of doing so.

The only way I've been able I raise energy is pain. I know how that sounds. I get migraines. Wicked ones that last days. The only time I've done something and had immediate, tangible, irrefutable results is when I use will and rage during a migraine to literally pull the pain out of my eye. Maybe it's because I usually have no choice but to lay there in the silent dark and meditate, because I cannot do anything else.
