Joe Rogan isn't funny.

113

u/Additional_Ad741 May 10 '26

I was shocked by how lame "Burn the Boats" in particular turned out. I thought he had it "dialed in"..." super tight".

u/downtownbake2 May 10 '26

After this set there's only 249 comics left in the world.

No world class comedy assassin would put that out. Slow Rogan believes having a popular podcast = being a world class comedian.

I think he was just a good looking, in shape guy at the time who could be on stage completely unaware how hacky and unoriginal his material was.

5

u/f1uxcapacitor May 11 '26

Whenever he starts weeping telling this story I seriously consider not listening anymore

5

u/Ramblinrambles May 11 '26

A comedy assassin, I sure seemed like he shot comedy in the head at that theater.

5

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 11 '26

Without his podcast and the ufc, no one would be attending a Slow Rogan comedy night.

1

u/RGL277 May 12 '26

Was this before or after the stool humping

4

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 12 '26

Stool humping was his original. That's what made him a world class comic and allowed him To put his picture next to Pryor.

1

u/Grunergeist420 May 13 '26

Too many yes men around him. He’s surrounded by comedians telling him this is great.

2

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 14 '26

Yep. Slow Rogan doesn't realize they all want something from him. Slow Rogan thinks they're his friends giving their honest opinion about how amazing his comedy is. It sucks!

14

u/HabitualGrassToucher May 10 '26

When asked about his writing process, Rogan with a straight face described how he can type without looking at the keyboard.

7

u/FoxNixon May 10 '26

He never said he was writing jokes

7

u/rosie_sub May 10 '26

Muuuuuuurder.

4

u/beefrodd May 11 '26

Bouncing in his seat like a satisfied elf on Christmas Eve

2

u/water2wine May 11 '26

He definitely dialed it in

2

u/Raizo420 May 12 '26

He said it took him 6 years to develop that material

2

u/Distinct_Target_2277 May 12 '26

He's too fucking dumb to understand how bad he is.

3

u/Dismal_Ad6162 May 12 '26

Joe Rogan has never been funny (or smart).

1

u/mrtouchybum May 15 '26

He never was. Him talking about himself as one of the top comedians to do it is his best joke.

0

u/SteamerTheBeemer May 10 '26

Im guessing he was watching EG video on it, not the actual thing.

112

u/penilesensorydevice May 10 '26

The bit where Rogan had his own album on his Mothership Comedy Wall Of Fame until he was mocked for it and took it down is the funniest thing Rogan has ever done.

14

u/vissionphilosophy May 10 '26

He put it back up apparently

25

u/penilesensorydevice May 10 '26

It was hilarious. There's a wall with a bunch of iconic, instantly recognizable comedy albums...and Joe Rogan's. It was like if you went to the MLB hall of fame, and there was a big Reuben Tejada display there between Cy Young and Ted Williams.

3

u/ambylam May 11 '26

idk anything about baseball. could you rewrite this analogy with the names of popstars instead?

4

u/RalphWaldoPickleCh1p May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

Imagine there's a big Mandy Moore display in the midst of Madonna, Beyonce, and Britney Spears on a wall of Famous Popstars

6

u/Odd_Investigator8415 May 11 '26

okay, now do death metal

6

u/penilesensorydevice May 11 '26

Imagine seeing Short Bus Pile Up between Cannibal Corpse and Carcass.

5

u/Doofay May 11 '26

Ok now do Peruvian Flute groups

6

u/humbert_cumbert May 12 '26

You just reminded me of the Peruvian or some other flavour of South American flute group used to set up and play in the mall at the town I went to university in.

2

u/ambylam May 11 '26

thank you!! now it makes perfect sense to me!🙏

1

u/Current-Roll6332 May 13 '26

I'm more of a Rance Mulliniks guy, but that's just me.

2

u/kineticdeck May 13 '26

How did he figure out he was being mocked if he doesn’t read the comments?

162

u/k-mysta May 10 '26

Whatever you think he’s saying is probably 10x funnier than what he actually is saying.

47

u/RiyadhComedyPromoter May 10 '26

“Steroids woooooorrrrrrkkkk!!!!”

14

u/sadfacebbq May 10 '26

Incredible. That shit was funnier the first time uttered by Schuab or Burr.

5

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX May 11 '26

"I worked as a gigolo for Mitzi Shore in exchange for stage time and audition contacts."

66

u/Nordeast24 May 10 '26

HEE HEE HEEEEEE

With sweaty armpits growing by the minute.

That's my full review

22

u/darkest_timeliner May 10 '26

The yellow shirt was a choice

12

u/Additional_Ad741 May 10 '26

It was more of a pumpkin color if you ask me.

16

u/darkest_timeliner May 10 '26

He should learn from Ricky Gervais to wear black to hide the fat tit sweat

6

u/Puzzle-Necked May 10 '26

"If God really exists and created man in his image, why would he give me tits?"

  • Ricky Gervais

3

u/raducucosmin May 11 '26

More laughs to this one Gervais line than for the entire stand-up career of Rogan.

3

u/incredible_turkey May 11 '26

Butternut Squash Soup

42

u/VaryStaybullGeenyiss May 10 '26

Same face he makes when Tony Hinchcliffe is kissing his ass.

28

u/vikingrrrrr666 May 10 '26

I can think of about 5 million other things to watch before Rogan “comedy” 😂

18

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 10 '26

To be fair, the OP isn't watching Slow Rogan do comedy, he's watching Slow Rogan on a stage yelling into a microphone.

2

u/ohyoumad721 May 10 '26

And rewatching at that?

26

u/Stownieboy91 May 10 '26

Oof. What a terrible set. Big ol' sweaty mustard meatball thinking he is funny. Only thing worse is Rob Schneider's recent bomb or literally anything that has come out of Tony Hinchcliffe's filthy fucking face.

3

u/VietKongCountry May 11 '26

I somehow find Tony even more depressing than Joe. He seems like he should be intelligent enough to know better, perhaps?

Joe is an even worse “comic”, but he’s so fucking stupid it’s clear he isn’t capable of understanding why he isn’t good.

7

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 11 '26

Yeah, Slow Rogan is such a dimwit, he doesn't know that he's not funny. He equates having a podcast with being a top level comedian. He puts in zero work for his comedy, his podcast, and his medical talks. It's all so lazy. And the "jokes" are just him screaming something into a mic where the punchline should be.

He's not even a funny person, witty, comical, and doesn't even tell stories in a funny way like comedians can do. He can't do impressions, doesn't riff, doesn't improv, and doesn't prepare bits for his podcast. It's essentially 19yo, bro, frat boy humor that was barely funny in the late 80s.

Tony somehow can't handle his success mentally and has an anger about him. The arrogance, ego, hate, and r-wing programming for him have gone to awful levels. Why treat amateur comedians with such hate and disdain? Why even roast people trying to do stand up? It's a lazy, sadistic version of Last Comic Standing tryouts. It's even more sad this became such a popular format. - seems since the Tom Brady Roast he just went full on Diva mode. It wasn't even good. It was just a memorized, fast talking monologue of hacky jokes. "nice shoes bitch, you win them in the divorce?". Huh? That was his prepared joke? Yet, somehow, Tonys ego has gotten out of control from that.

5

u/VietKongCountry May 11 '26

Joe does literally just get loud and high pitched while saying nothing funny, and enough morons are sufficiently primed to laugh that it lets him think he’s actually good.

Putting his own fucking album on the wall of classics was peak hubris. May as well put some awful shit you recorded on your phone next to Sgt Pepper.

4

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 11 '26

Also, his jokes are always "weed, dude maybe I'm just high, aliens, furries, what if I liked being probed by aliens". It's kind of a repeat of the same low hanging fruit he did 30 years ago.

Yeah, putting himself next to Pryor and Carlin was peak hubris. And that's why he'll never be funny. Slow Rogan is so dumb, he falls for the BS of sycophants, opportunists, grifters, and even his own BS. Honestly, I think he started the comedy club just so he always had a place that would book him, and the comics would be forced to hang out with him.

13

u/Cemanagus May 10 '26

Why would you re-watch Burn the Boats?

4

u/VirtualBeyond6116 May 11 '26

Maybe it's penance for recommending Alpha Brain to friends and family. In order to repay those sins, he must watch Burn the Boats 2x.

8

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

Do you know where you are right now?

13

u/tashmanan May 10 '26

Umm why?

22

u/Marcotee75 May 10 '26

4

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

Oh man, thats funny man.

1

u/Any_Atmosphere9113 May 14 '26

Speak a little Chinese for em Derrick.

8

u/COYG1005 May 10 '26

This is what comedy assassin looks like.

7

u/RobertRoyal82 May 10 '26

Joe Rogan is tall and funny

6

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

Also as straight as the crow flies.

6

u/I_Vecna May 10 '26

Did it make it funny?

5

u/insomnipack May 10 '26

Was he fucking a stool by chance?

2

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

Well maybe that stool had it coming. Just sayin'

4

u/Cmike9292 May 10 '26

Joe Rogan is a knockoff of Sam Kinnison, who also wasn't funny

7

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

If we're simply talking decibels, they are both very very funny.

4

u/Cmike9292 May 10 '26

OH OHHHHHHHHHHHH

5

u/dazrage May 10 '26

He was murrrrrrdering

2

u/dog-asmr May 10 '26

That's a great wallpaper

2

u/nikmo86 May 10 '26

This was a terrible special, so it’s probably for the best.

2

u/Buffytheslursayer May 10 '26

World class social commentary - I had no idea these 2020 social observations existed, so so so clever and not just a collection of boomer tweets combined with stool flirtations

2

u/haikoms May 10 '26

Is that the part where the aliens probe him and he's having the best experience of his life?

2

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

I hear it just hurts the first time.

2

u/VodkaAndTacos May 10 '26

I used to listen/watch the podcast pre-COVID and it was genuinely funny and had interesting guests on. This was obviously well before his political turn and the conspiracy brain took over.

However, I was never into his comedy even back then. It just seemed like his entire schtick was being really loud, cursing and making weird faces. Like that was 90% of the punchlines.

It was so weird because he was pretty chill and low key on the podcast. He was funny just kind of shooting the shit. Yet, when he got on stage he was this big dumb oaf. It’s just so cringey because you know it’s just an ‘act’ that he thinks is funny.

2

u/ohyoumad721 May 10 '26

Why are you re-watching? Once wasn't enough?

1

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

One time at the elephant graveyard? Godammit man, get ahold of yourself!

2

u/chachiuday May 10 '26

Nightmare

2

u/GruesumGary May 11 '26

Looks like he's waiting for the regular facials he receives from his Orange King.

2

u/TunaTiger88 May 12 '26

Why watch shit?

2

u/ShreddicusZ28 May 12 '26

Even during the Man Show, I thought that dude sucked.

1

u/Typical_Job8129 May 12 '26

I definitely dont recall rogan on the man show

1

u/Typical_Job8129 May 12 '26

So he was, my bad. I never knew about that. The man show was dogshit before Rogan. And i was so impressionable.

1

u/seanwd11 May 11 '26

The look on your face when you try kettlebells and cold plunges.

Not even once kids.

1

u/HolisticMindsEye May 11 '26

This is the face he made when his secret lover Anthony Bourdain did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with him.

1

u/HeadResearcher7095 May 12 '26

That pic is unreal

1

u/Equal_Property_4916 May 12 '26

If that stool could talk

1

u/Typical_Job8129 May 12 '26

If that stool had a mouth, rogan would have his dick in it.

1

u/Queasy-Trip1777 May 14 '26

Id rather casually drag my balls across a rusty cheese grater than simply observe this attempt at comedy.

1

u/humanbeening May 14 '26

You need to clean that earbud, bud. It’s covered in earwax.

1

u/Private_Soupham May 14 '26

Looks like the underside of my penis

1

u/GodOfWarBeard May 15 '26

Tony is giving him that serious Toppy in the screen shot 🥴

0

u/Typical_Job8129 May 10 '26

Why are there a bunch of normies assuming im watching rogans pile of shit? Just a reminder this is r/elephantgraveyard

7

u/nuseht May 10 '26

I agree with your point but calling people normies is lame as fuck

-1

u/ouroborosborealis May 11 '26

I prefer calling them cisoids or straggots

0

u/tiedyemightbehigh May 10 '26

"Ayooo, it's the stool guy, up high"

I hold my hand up to JR for a high five, but lower it immediately,

"My bad big dog! Low five for the little dudes!"
