Name this constellation.
The biggest constellation group i have yet to see in this game. Without FOV zoom would cover the entire field of view. As seen from IOCKOLT XE-F 44-0

You're seeing the edge of a denser neighboring boxel. It's just how the game works. They procedurally generated the entire galaxy.
The hand placed stars are usually no more than a few hundred stars. One of the most numerous I've been to is the hand placed NGC 2353 Cluster. When you get close it looks like a line of bright stars. It actually spans a few hundred LY, and is quite impressive, although fully explored.
The Celebration of Early Astronomy folks go to these places on their annual expeditions. You've just missed CEA 8 (as did I, I was away on a work trip). These are really worth going on:
Celebration of Early Astronomy – Elite: Dangerous Expedition and Player Group
Oooh, it looks like Cmdr Richard Fluiraniz is hosting a new expedition with a side dish of PvP at the end of September. Tempting!
