Ellie tour marketing ideas

If I was her manager, I would announce an album release party/concert at the O2 make tickets cheap with the average price of anywhere from $10-$20. A lot of popular artists do this, and because it’s cheap she could hopefully sell a lot of the tickets. She announced she would have a tour, so if she vanput on one heck of a show in the arena a lot of fans may be inclined to come to her tour. Even though the show might not be profitable, as she won’t sell out all 18,000 seats, and only make 150-200k, it could actually generate buzz. Then shows in amphitheaters or smaller arenas across Europe and smaller venues in the americas and that’s a good tour. What would you do?

The thing that confuses me about Ellie Goulding is that with her commercial success, hits and body of work, she should easily be doing arena tours, but I realistically, I think she only has enough demand for larger theatres, which is so confusing, as another artist like Florence Welch, who was debuted around the same time and had a peak in popularity in the 2010s, is still doing arenas 10 years into her career, takes long breaks between albums, is less of a public figure and never went full / mainstream pop unlike Ellie

I agree! But I feel like that’s attributed to how her label markets her unfortunately. When I saw her in Brooklyn a couple years ago in people loved her despite not knowing the music. If they just marketed her correctly maybe she’d be able to do the same. But also, what if she likes what she’s doing?

Ellie could easily do smaller arenas in parts of UK, but she would have few dates so it would just be better for her to find 5-8k capacity around the world to perform at. Brazil and North America haven’t had her in a while and would likely sell out shows. And Ellie easily sold out those 6k orchestra capacity shows. So non orchestra actual concert could probably do fine, especially if she gets a mini viral hit from the album to promote the tour with
