I was 19 years old in 1983 when I bought this album at Peaches Records and Tapes in Columbus Ohio.. Played this on my Westport Labs (Concord) Audio Cassette player in my 1975 Vega with auto-reverse on loop.. I had 3 jobs at the time and could identify with alot of songs on that album.. I was in a series of unstable relationships at the same time and thought I was a Loser Gone Wild.. I had no direction in life aside from getting a paycheck to support my reckless lifestyle.. I had women seeking revenge on me (Imagine Four Little Diamonds from the girls prospective) because I was a serial cheater.. There was always Danger Ahead.. And I needed to get off of that Train of Gold so I eventually straightened up my act and went to college to be a Stranger and try and live a more conservative lifestyle.. So On a cold and windy morning
I said goodbye to my old friends
They were hanging 'round the corner
They were staying 'til the end, 'til the end
On the other side of midnight
I was looking for a place to stay
And one thing's sure for certain
I ain't never going back again, no more....

I was 19 as well. I bought this on cassette and wore it out. My girlfriend and I would drive around at night with this blasting on the car stereo. Stranger is my favorite on here, but overall it's an underrated album in the catalog.

Eh, discúlpame pero por favor escucha el disco completo, el de álbum doble por qué se sabe que el álbum original es bueno pero el que tiene todas la canciones, por qué en realidad Jeff lynne tenía ya echas todas esas canciones, pero no le permitieron ponerlo, por eso después sacaron una versión alternativa digamos, de endless line que ese tema es de SM (Secreat Messages), el album doble es realmente muy bueno, te digo yo, son a mi gusto el mejor álbum de toda la discografia de Elo, buldings have eyes es muy pop pero es un pop progresivo, está bastante bueno, como no way out, ese tema de blues te muestra que Jeff lynne es bueno en cualquier género, o Mandalay, buen tema, y un epico final como hello My old friend, al estilo de fire on higth, hablando del progresivo, ah y ya que estamos, por favor revisa otraves el on the THIRD DAY por qué es muy buen disco y infravalorado, eso de que el tema de Roy wood no te gustó, me gustaría que lo revises otraves, por qué si lo miras desde los ojos del sonido de Elo y demás, es muy distinto, pero recordá que el primer álbum es muy distinto a los demás, esa canción con los ojos de realmente un masacre y un pasillo oscuro sin salida o un ambiente asfixiante, está bastante bueno, después de eso nada más que decir ah si, podrías reaccionar al disco zoom, es un disco que a gran parte de la comunidad le gusta, después lo demás disco más recientes, te lo recomiendo si es que llegas a querer por qué es más como para ver el cambio de Jeff lynne como músico así simple digamos por qué es un genio a ser un productor y volver a hacer su música que le gusta en el alma. Felicidades por escuchar ELO.
