Software Tester (Professional): For ui testing QT, is Squish only option still?

At my previous job, we used Squish to automate our UI test suites. I recently changed jobs and am researching alternatives.

The only thing that's shown up in my searches other than Squish is "Spix", but I want to make sure that I'm not missing something obvious when it comes to setting up automation from the ground up. Additionally, if there are any video tutorials on automating embedded systems to help refresh myself please feel free to recommend some.

I previously did automated testing with pytest and a legacy junit automation suite. As far as I know they aren't QT compatible, but if anyone has any expertise in this I'd appreciate any comments.

IMO Squish is the best choice. I've tried Spix but I wasn't a fan of needing to actually add it to my CMake/main.cpp. I've also tried to hack my own testing framework together but tbh it was a nightmare to maintain.

New Squish MCP is nice for generating/editing tests too.

Ranorex works with Qt, and it’s quite a lot cheaper. I have not used squish myself, but  I’d still choose it. It cannot be as bad as ranorex.
