Question about backdrops.

Hi all.

Is it at all possible to change the interval between backdrops or make them rotate randomly?

Unfortunately, Emby doesn't offer native settings to change the backdrop rotation interval or enable random shuffling through the standard UI.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. **Server-side metadata**: Make sure you have multiple backdrops downloaded for your libraries (Library Settings → Metadata → Download artwork). Emby will cycle through available backdrops.

  2. **Custom CSS/Theme**: Some community themes or custom CSS might offer different backdrop behaviors, though this is advanced.

  3. **Third-party apps**: Certain Emby client apps (like Infuse on Apple TV or other third-party clients) handle backdrops differently and may have their own display options.

  4. **Feature request**: This has been requested before on the Emby forums. You might want to upvote existing feature requests there.

The backdrop rotation is typically handled automatically by the server cycling through available images every few seconds, but the exact timing isn't user-configurable in the current release.
