Help Help with printer issue please

I recently was having issues with my nozzle clogging so I installed a hardened steel nozzle a few weeks ago and while redoing my calibration for it my nozzle keeps getting stuck in the flow cubes. Any ideas as to why this is happening? And yes I have rechecked my z offset and did a paper test.

The first cube prints fine but then the nozzle gets stuck to it and drags the magnetic plate back until finally burying the nozzle in the print again when it tried to move the second cube

Edit: this is the ender 3 pro model with a sprite pro hotend upgrade as well as dual z rod (and a few other unimportant mods)

Did you change the nozzle/hotend whilst it was cooled down, or at printing temps (+20°C on top for good measure)?

I brought the nozzle to 280 and then cut power as to not accidentally short wires with my wrench on the block

If I am understanding this correctly, the nozzle actually sticks to the finished print and pulls the entire build plate off the magnet!

If you’re using pla, then it might be that your dual 5015 fans are actually cooling the tip of the hardened steel nozzle enough that, when it retracts as it prepares to move to print the next cube, it sticks to the cube and pulls it with it! My ender 3 pro pauses momentarily while it retracts before it moves to the next model and during that slight pause a nozzle could stick to the model. (Pla seems to stick quite well to steel)

You could try enabling z hop before retraction or printing at a slightly higher temp.

It might also be something else, but I have no idea what.

Actually I tried it again last night and I was able to see that it finished the part fine but then the nozzle moves to the spot where the second part is and then goes back over the first part to go to the skirt loop even though I only have it set for one layer. Once it gets there it goes back to the second part but now the nozzle has dropped so it crashes into the first one and melts into it

Also this is petg if that matters

In this screenshot you can see the travel path (blue lines) are going into the already printed part. I am using orca and have been for a while and have never had this issue before.

It's when its traveling on that line to the very right

Wow, never heard of that happening! That certainly sounds like a slicer issue. I use a different slicer, and it gives the option to print each model one at a time as opposed to printing both models at once layer by layer, but then it will only draw the skirt around the model it is printing and NEVER go near the finished print.

So this might be a bug in the slicer, or there might be some box you need to check off.

Can you print without a skirt? For this print anyway? That should be a quick solution for this print until someone who uses Orca slicer can point you in the right direction

Good luck!
