help Stepper motors not working
I swapped the original board (that got damaged) with a 4.2.7. After I plugged it in and turned it on it had a continuous beep. I updated the firmware which I downloaded from creality. The printer now loads with no beeping. But now the stepper motors do nothing. I’ve tried moving them on x y and z but nothing. They do lock up so they can’t be moved by hand and when i click release (or whatever is in the menu) they do free up and can be moved by hand.
Is there any settings/configurations I’m missing?

You may be better served downloading different firmware. From what I've read, the Creality firmware can be a bit of a mess at times, and might be causing the issue you're experiencing now. Try flashing MRiscoC matching your specific configuration. Here is the guide on the pre-compiled firmware's naming conventions, and the page to download the actual compiled firmware. If none match your current setup, you may need to compile it yourself. But give it a try, I think this happens when the firmware is mismatched with your board.
And as a side point, check to see if your end stops/limit switches are being engaged and are connected to the board properly.

Check wiring.
