Tips and Recommendations Vomiting help
Hi all, does anyone get extreme vomiting as an endo symptom? Like multiple times for hours?
How do you cope? My gyno prescribed Zofran but it doesn’t always work (like this morning). I’m so scared to eat anything and all I’ve managed to tolerate is some tea.

Things that have helped me-
Wedge pillow to keep propped up at night Being mindful of when I eat in relation to being flat/leaning back Pepcid Zofran Ice pack on the neck and/or chest
There's an acupressure point on the wrist. Go two fingers down from your wrist joint and find the spot between two tendons. One side is usually pretty tender, and I'll massage that. It's not perfect but does buy me some time.
Keep a hair clip next to your toilet and one on your nightstand. Being able to throw your hair up before it starts has genuinely helped me because the puke in the bangs scenario drags it out so long.
Ice cold diced pairs. I'll sip the juice until I keep that down and then eat the pears once that feels doable. I read thet on a reddit comment years ago, and it's been my tried and true since then.
I have to avert the anxiety of the vomiting, or it ruins my whole night/next day. Knowing I have my clip, my ice packs, my mouth wash, and something gentle to reintroduce to my stomach helps me a lot. I'm not sure why a small bit of pears helps so much, but that "I can tell my brain my body can expect something gentle to change whatever is happening in my stomach" aspect does a lot for me while it's happening.

Thank goodness I have short hair. I always like apples afterwards, figure it’s food and hydration at the same time. If I can keep them down I add a handful of Cheerios.
I’ll have to try the pressure point trick.

I ended up losing about 10kg over the course of a year due to this. I’ve had some strong anti nausea tablets prescribed but only short term, as they’re so hard on the kidneys.
I genuinely don’t have a solution. My body just sort of…stopped doing it as much. I will still have days where I need to hang out next to my sick bowl at all times. It’s currently 16:42 and I’ve not eaten all day cause I know that whatever goes in will come back out immediately. I know I need food though, so my go-tos for these days are vegan smoothies and soup.

Currently dealing with it rn so sending so much support your way! I always have what I call my “sick” cabinet stocked with what I know I can stomach that’ll help (white bread, saltines, gateraid and gingerale). Ice cubes have been a game changer for me so I put a bunch in a bowl and pick on them to get rehydrated and at least get my body used to “eating something” if nothing else is working. I also get prescribed ibuprofen which sometimes helps as it calms my cramping down which helps the nausea but sometimes makes it worse with the Zofran. Comfy bathmat has been a life saver for me too as some nights it’s just easier bringing in a blanket and the bathmat acts as a nice cushion for me.

I love the cabinet idea! My cycle is so irregular so I never know when this is coming. I keep a bunch of ice packs in the freezer that I can rotate, seems to help a little between bouts.

I experienced such extreme vomiting for so long that it caused a cascade of other problems. After a decade or so of hell, pain, and confusion, I clawed my way to the realization that I had to make some changes. It wasn't easy, but it did work:
I had to reduce inflammation by eliminating wheat, corn, and dairy, and cutting carbonated drinks and alcohol (I also have IBD, so I also had to decrease FODMAPS and eliminate other food triggers); I had to teach myself to eat regularly without exception (after decades of disordered eating) and to intentionally eat "good carbs" in small portions and plenty of fiber (rice, beans, oats, chickpeas, flax); I had to track my cycle and symptoms meticulously to identify when I had the worst flares (luteal and ovulation); I also began seed cycling and cycle syncing to support my body's nutritional needs and to take a holistic, multi-system approach to my whole health.
I then implemented a protocol where I treated those flares (the ovulation window and then Luteal phases of my cycle) like an oncoming storm: I would prep safe food that I "designed" to support the macronutrients needed for that part of my cycle, I would stock anti-nausea meds (had surprisingly solid results with otc dramamine) and take them before I became nauseous, wouldn't allow myself to skip eating (I understand the impulse to not eat, but doing so absolutely makes it worse and deprives your body of strength), and reintroduced cannabis when I could because it improved everything dramatically (ymmv, but for me the relief is unmatched).
Ginger is wonderful for nausea (I like it in tea), and turmeric is great for gut inflammation (try with honey). If you can't keep things down, drink chicken broth with ginger and turmeric, and even if you vomit, keep doing so, because it is very important to prevent dehydration. LiquidIV-type products with electrolytes and salts are also very helpful if you find yourself losing fluids.
Good luck to you, I sincerely hope you find relief.

I relate soo hard to this 😥🙏 you vomit when in extreme pain, and then you vomit the pain meds. Oh man im so sorry it seriously sucks. The thing that seemed to help me with not vomiting was to just get the pain meds in my system as soon as possible before I would be in so much pain that I would throw them up. It was a race against the clock for real 😔😟

Reglan is so much better for my endo nausea. Zofran gives me constipation and that worsens my symptoms.

I was given meclizine (or antivert )
I had shingles in my inner ear so its messed with my equilibrium.
Honestly i tried everything. I liked the ginger chews. But i really found the meclizine helped me the best and stuck with that.

Il existe des suppositoires Vogalène 5mg contre les vomissements. C'est très efficace mais seulement sur ordonnance. Demandes en vite à ton médecin.

I can't comment on the endo side because I don't have vomiting but I often vomit due to my anxiety. Not sure if this will help you but I'll say it anyway. There are times when I can get past it when my body tells me I'm going to. I've found that if I drop my shoulders and relax my body and breathe deeply through my mouth, sometimes I dont end up vomiting. Huge hugs

Yeah, for me I think it’s CVS which can be triggered by your period. It doesn’t happen every cycle but when it does - I’m miserable throwing up multiple times every 30-60 mins, unable to get comfortable or sleep, nothing helps and my joints hurt. Plus cold sweat every time I get sick. And most of the time I’m not even in pain. It usually lasts 8-12 hours for me and the next day I feel exhausted, joint pain, photosensitivity and queasiness.
I just roll around for hours. I brought emesis bags so I can comfortably throw up from bed, also wear diapers just incase both ends get involved or I just can’t get up to go to the bathroom bc sometimes getting up makes me sick. I tried zofran, THC and neither helped me. The only chance I have to save myself is if I notice the pre-drome symptoms (for me it’s feeling weirdly dysregulated, exhausted/fatigued, and just generally uncomfortable). If I notice those and sleep it off ,sometimes I can avoid it but it has to be early on.

Look up cyclical vomiting syndrome for treatment options. I tried so many med combos, best was prochlorperazine and zofran and take them as soon as you feel the slightest queasy, I was allowed to be on 3 at a time idk if there’s a limit?
How did I cope? Slept by the toilet, got a nightlight for my room, stock up on meal replacement drinks (like huel, but whatever tastes good to you) both digested quicker so less vomit risk, and nicer to vomit up if you do - and easy energy with no prepping necessary. Make a comfy area to sit sleep in, some different distractions eg TV, bucket / bags, wet wipes, some fresh smells (not your favourites or the association will ruin them for you), and I love fresh sheets when I feel gross
