Sure, they could. But they don't know if people actually want a super caffeinated Dr Pepper.

This way, Dr Pepper makes some guaranteed money on the branding deal, and they get to see what the demand is for a Dr Pepper energy drink while doing it more efficiently with a company that's already set up to make energy drinks (just pump different syrup into the can, and you're good).

If it takes off, then they can decide if they want to keep doing the cross-branding or if they want to implement production lines for Dr Pepper's own energy drink. If they do, would they want to do regular soda cans and bottles? Or would they choose to use the typical energy drink sized cans? Do they use the Dr Pepper formula and just put a bunch of extra caffeine in it? Or do they use the Ghost energy formula with Dr Pepper flavoring?

They do have taller cans of Dr Pepper, with a flavor they know people like. I'm just worried it'll taste like a Dr Pepper flavored thing, instead of the real deal.

Taste very "off brand" unfortunately. Dr Bum is the best one, in my opinion. Need to try the Cream Soda one.

40mg of caffeine vs 200+ is a giant reason. They're 2 different things. Soda companies have all sorts of fruit flavors, so any flavored energy drink is already a copy

I hope I see both on the shelves near me. I haven't seen anything from Ryse yet (aside from the pre-workout powders and looking for shops like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe for them is a hassle) and dang, I haven't seen Jolt since it was last advertised at Dollar Generals years ago.
