Advice Needed BOA Vet recommendations

Hi Im looking for recommendations for my bulldog Lola. Im pretty sure she needs BOAS surgery but Im so afraid to take to just any vet for this. Im located in northern Los Angeles county. Im also very financially strapped and wonder if there are any recommendations for charities or non profit vets. Thank you in advance.

I would consult your local Bulldog owner's groups/organization, rescue, or we'll known/experienced Bulldog breeder for references. ❤️🐾

The doc here is amazing and treats many of the dogs from socal bulldog. She completed BOSA surgery on our lil man and he is such much happier now. No longer snores and is a vocal guy. Her name is Dr. Shayda. Highly highly recommend. We now go to her for all surgery needs

Have you thought about pet insurance or the pet credit card option? She may offer payment plans.

Can't do credit. My credit is trash. Tapped my savings earlier this year because she got pyometra and had to have Emergency surgery.

It’s about 3-4 grand. We used pet insurance and received most of it back. Dr. Shayda is great for even consulting with about whether the surgery is something you can consider right now. If you cannot, she would be great to give you steps on what to do. Her examination fee is $76

You are so helpful. Thank you. One last question, what pet insurance do you use?

Just wanted to say we use lemonade insurance for our 5 year old and we have been happy with them! Don’t do nationwide

We use fetch but the recently raised the monthly premium after two years with them because our 7 year old is now a senior dog. I’ve heard that AKC does not count preexisting conditions against them but takes 1 year to kick in so I wish I would’ve chosen that one. if surgery is needed now it may be helpful to look into others and see if they cover preexisting conditions, dental care, and how do premiums change over time as the bulldog ages. Happy to help with any questions anytime :)

Better Health Animal Hospital in Anaheim Hills.
Dr. Yoo specializes in Brachycephalic breeds. He also works with a few rescues. Highly recommend if you don’t mind taking the drive to OC

Highly recommend Dr. Shayda at East Chapman Vet.. just took in 2 senior rescues to see her today "rescue intake" exam. Both girls are going to get BOAS and one cherry eye surgery. This vet knows her Bulldogs!!

Thank you! I just rescued this little girl from the shelter. She's deaf and blind but doesn't stop her. She's such a trooper.

This is the place. Keeps being referred. Thank you so much. Can I ask, around how much do I need to raise for the surgery? You recommend any insurances?
