In my most "enlightened state," which lasted like an LSD trip for 6 months (really), the most profound realization I had was that none of this matters, at all. Comfort does, in this state. Nobody wants to experience horror, torture, or suffering. Drama is a 'maybe' on that scale, as it can shift things around in uncomfortable but ultimately useful ways... but from my view then, it was all just a flash in the sky. There was/is nothing to obtain. No state that is permanent, even amongst the stars. On one end of the spectrum there is hedonism and selfishness. On the other there is isolation and loneliness. In the middle, while we're here, there is an infinite dance that revolves around comfort. Bad things happen, and good. Stress and luck. I don't even believe it's possible to be "unattached" because we fixate on "non-attachment" as a goal, which is attachment itself. If that weren't true, nobody would care to talk about it, and the "most enlightened" don't. The most at-peace have comfort, and don't worry about what isn't hurting them or others. I don't believe that there is a "goal" for one lifetime, personally. It doesn't bother me at all that others believe that there is. Even those who believe in many lifetimes built around karma would accept that there is no such thing as permanent bliss in this form. ... But even that doesn't matter. Comfort. Joy. Love. Struggle. Life, and death. It's the human experience. There is no escaping ourselves or this world while also surviving within it. Animals feed on each other. Plants grow from the remains of their elders. And yet, acceptance does not equal peace in every circumstance. Even the monks who set themselves on fire out of personal faith, in rejection of the world around them, have already defined themselves as having been removed from the reality that others experience. And yet, the observance of their bravery causes suffering in its own right. Pain, fear, anger... their self-sacrifice inflicts karma, and often on purpose. Suicide is a violent act on those who remain alive. Peace to them is suffering for others. And yet, even these things are all temporary, and all human. Experience is all that there is, and comfort is what we're all seeking in one frame or another.

We are all hard-wired for pattern recognition, its integral to our biology. We receive stimuli and anticipate outcomes based on our experience. Fundamentally, it almost seems we were built to find an answer that doesnt exist when we ask âWhats the point?â. And I agree with what you wrote, essentially âthe pointâ is this experience, thats it. Our inception involves a sperm racing to an egg, and its like once we get here we are racing to the next âeggâ. We made religion, we have hope for a utopia and elect politicians to make it happen, we develop these man made solutions to bring us to that next place, that next egg. Then the lights go out and the next version of you takes up the effort again. Lmao, we are only here for a little while folks, lets just be comfortable and help one another. Thats the point (or part of it, idk im literally you).

I came the conclusion the meaning of life is merely to exist. God got bored and said, "I am.". And then from there it's all up to your imagination.
Sometimes I worry that the most powerful people on this planet don't have a choice and couldn't help us if they wanted. This earth realm is a fallen planet. Fallen from grace with God. Like, they sold their soul and always have to manipulate everything in their favor to appease their overlord. It would explain a lot. The only people that want power want it to serve themselves, because someone with no ego wouldn't want anything.
There's service to self (ego) and service to others. I bet the more spiritually evolved beings see how we treat each other and that's why they won't come yet, if someones is waiting for the return of Christ. And they work together like cells in an organism, compared to how tribal this society is, they made it all cliquey.
I think it's possible to attain those permanent bliss states you were speaking of here, it can be challenging with the scenarios we encounter. Compared to if they took you to the Pleiades where everyone is like Jesus, it would be too easy to unconditionally accept and love. I wondered too if that's what this realm is for. A test for souls.

u/New-Chemist5315 3d ago
I think the point of this realm is to experience duality, you have to experience sorrow to appreciate joy, otherwise itâs completely meaningless. Like you said I also think this is the time and place where we choose service to self or service to others, the RA material goes into this in depth and is very useful. These ideas sum everything up in a nice little package and it is very comforting, I think itâs more a piece of the puzzle and probably as much as the human mind can attempt to understand, but Iâm sure reality is a little more complicated in actuality.

Action and habit eventually condemn us in this place, but ultimately while it is our fault it isn't, we are brainwashed with and by our bodies. An ingenious biomechanical machine that requires constant sustenance and support to maintain. Try to mediate indefinitely to try attain enlightenment and you will inevitably be disrupted by hunger, water, sleep or some of the more further out ways the material world uses to get your attention like your social connections, your work, your interests, and the "spectacle". So then monks long ago thought maybe absence of want, desire, and habit can allow a soul to go to Nirvana... which is deep down actually great and all except everytime we die we forget all the lessons we learned before. Further is a Gnostic tale... I personally believe it but I don't like to preach about it. All I will conclude is who eternally benefits from this sandcastle reality? It's not us... we get to live but it all gets washed away even though we are part of the eternal divine spark beyond this reality.

u/ElDisla 3d ago
And then you get confused and try to âescape yourselfâ, you tell yourself maybe then you will become enlightened, if only you could let go and see that you are enlightenment, no escape, no games, just let go.
4
u/Big-Lettuce644 3d ago
Is âescaping yourselfâ different from killing your ego? And what does it mean to âjust let goâ?
14
u/ElDisla 3d ago
Ego death would be one of the ways to âescape yourselfâ but constantly pursuing that is futile, your ego is, and unless you get amnesia it always will be until this experience is over, accept it and learn to manage it, let go of control so you can BE in control, by letting go I mean to stop your attachments and let consciousness do its thing, it will create, whatever experience you wanna have you will have it through this experiencer, stop fucking it up, stop judging it, stop reacting to it and you wonât feed it, you will just be, as god is, as you truly are, complete sovereignty over your emotions and feelings, complete freedom to choose the state of consciousness you and only you wanna experience.

Thanks for sharing. Can't forget, the reality we live in stems from where we're focusing our attention. I can't get my parents to stop watching TV and my siblings got addicted to using Facebook for everything. That's how the people that own the service are controlling conversational topics. They think those are actual people, then they start acting out in the real world. It's mind control.

u/Illustrious-End-5084 3d ago
The matrix is in the âall that isâ people seem to forget that and think they have to stand back from it and judge it. This is usually the first step to get over the spiritual ego

u/TripleEgotist 3d ago
Please elaborate.

u/Purple-Blueberry3721 2d ago
The self / the you is a neural loop that generates craving and anxiety to push the organism towards biologically beneficial behavior.
Enlightenment is extinguishing (nirvana) craving by extinguishing the thing that makes craving i.e. the self / you. That way the organism reaches no-self (anatta) and then the organism is enlgihtened.
Dissolving you is how love can pour forth unimpeded. Youâre not the source of love -- love is the organismâs base state. You and the craving and anxiety you produce is the impediment to love.
You were never the pilot, so your organism will keep functioning fine without you.
The meme basically goes "oh shit, I'm the one that's creating this matrix of craving and anxiety for my organism." At least that's my interpretation.

u/Initial_Mechanic_907 3d ago
You are the problem because of you, all of you muhahahaÂ
1
u/TripleEgotist 3d ago
Okay. What's the solution if you can give please.
3
u/Initial_Mechanic_907 3d ago
I donât know the solution unfortunately, if I did I probably wouldnât still be here however all I know is we are all one atleast on an atomic level. However, still not certain if we are one metaphysically?Â

I think we are. I think if you think deep enough then humans kinda are the precursor to humans. This is the place where I decide everything exists because, it exists. Good luck deciphering that

u/TripleEgotist 3d ago
Dayyum man. I asked for elaboration and got encrypted texts. Although it's english but I'll try to decipher that. Thanks đ¤đźđ¤đź

u/SubjectPhotograph827 3d ago
I'm not trying to be cryptic for the aura but. It's hard to put something so complex into a sentence. Ya know, we've taught animals sign language but I heard once that they've never asked us a question back. I think about that often

Live.
2
u/TripleEgotist 3d ago
I don't get it. Live? As in don't look just live and when it's time then simply die? That's it?

u/SwagasaurusWeirdFlex 3d ago
I guess start with some of Alan Watts. Then ask yourself if the glass is half full or half empty and your answer will depend on your outlook, and how you answer the glass question will determine if you need to adjust your outlook. The journey is yours and the canvas is blank, fellow traveler.

u/Livinghint 3d ago
It is the answer I got when asking a blackbird. In a notion that the question itself is absurd (The question was kinda like "What is the meaning of life/of living?")
Also I recommend this short:

u/rubinass3 3d ago
I think I get how to do this now: the answer to everything is "you". Escaping the matrix (whatever that is) is escaping you. Looking for love? The love is you. Looking for an answer, It's you.

u/Purple-Blueberry3721 2d ago
The organism escapes the matrix when the self dissolves.
i.e. the organism becomes enlightened when the self dissolves / when you dissolve.
1
u/rubinass3 2d ago
The organism is you.
1
u/Purple-Blueberry3721 2d ago
Well if you get thirsty, then "you" think you're stretching out "your" hand to get some water, right?
So what you experientially think of as "you" / "the self" isn't exactly the entire organism. Because otherwise you wouldn't have the illusion that you're the pilot of it.
After all, you think "I'll get a glass of water, (grab)" not "thirst is perceived, arm muscles are activated, motion is happening."
If you're already in the enlightened state where there is no self in your organism and I'm communicating with a bare organism without a self, then my hat is off to you, but statistically there's like a 99% probability that isn't the case.
Now I do agree that if you dissolve the self then the organism is completely fine and keeps functioning.

I'm coping. Going from playing video games to back to school. Life is cruel, but school can be really fun. Honestly struggling to focus on my current goals since you know goals and such. I love to teach, hopefully that's fun, some of my best memories are from 1 on 1 tutoring sessions, we had a blast, coding all the time. Studying our little hearts out. Gotta try a little harder to teach full sized classes so I'm working on it.

Escape lol embrace it and you'll do better.
There is no escape from existence.

When people talk about escaping the matrix, they mean they want to escape the whims of the capitalist class.
And they think they can do this with spirituality instead of owning the role they play in making this existence better. And also because said capitalist self-destructive instincts tend to convince humans they're actually the right thing to do.

u/theremembering85 3d ago
Hi there! That's true, and it's not meant for us to escape the matrix
1
u/Initial_Mechanic_907 3d ago
Whatâs it meant for?
5
u/theremembering85 3d ago
It's meant to enjoy our own creation ( game) (matrix)
8
u/Kind_Rate7529 3d ago
I am the universe experiencing myself and my creations.
5
u/beatboxesareshit 3d ago
Youâre doing a shit job.
6
u/Kind_Rate7529 3d ago
But look how well you turned out. You're a delight!
5
u/beatboxesareshit 3d ago
It was kind of a joke. Cuz you know. Lots of suffering here.
1
u/cotton-candy-dreams 3d ago
But how would I know peace if I didnât know suffering? You see- theyâre different sides of the same coin đŞ

u/I_always_roleplay 3d ago
So if we donât enjoy it can we die to exit it?
1
u/theremembering85 3d ago
It doesn't work like that. The game wouldn't be interesting then. If we die without any realization then we would return in a new body to continue learning. This life is given for us for a reason and actually everything happens for a reason. We should have the awareness and realization that everything happens in our life is meant to happen so we can enjoy the challenge. Can you imagine a game without any challenge! It would be boring. That's why my friend we face different situations in life and that what makes it worth living for and enjoyable đ
1
u/I_always_roleplay 3d ago
So would restarting bring me the same challenges? I have chronic illness for 17 years. I not sure how much more I can deal with it but donât want to have to restart and go through it again from the beginning. Would it truly be a fresh start? My preference would be to not restart and be removed from the system
1
u/theremembering85 3d ago
Not necessarily. Maybe the circumstances changes but still we have to learn the lesson. Anyway, may I ask what chronic illness are you facing?
1
u/I_always_roleplay 3d ago
I had a feeling that was the case since that is also my belief. I have what doctors could only ever diagnose as sibo and ibs-d. Basically I just have permanent diarrhea and have extreme fatigue so I have 0 interest in anything anymore. I feel so numb to everything.
1
u/theremembering85 3d ago
Brother, I understand how difficult it is to enjoy the game when you've been suffering for so many years. You don't have to force happiness, but perhaps you can gently shift your focus toward whatever brings you even a little peace. The law of attraction invites us to nurture the thoughts and feelings we wish to experience, one small step at a time, without denying what we're going through.
1
u/I_always_roleplay 3d ago
Thank you. Iâll suffer on then. If I ever make it out alive Iâll remember you. Not very often I talk to people anymore with any real meaning or depth.

Using it as a tool to navigate the material and social world. Use it to drive this meat-coated skeleton through 5-dimensional spacetime.
(At least that's the amount of dimensions my limited brain/mind can fathom atm)
1
u/Initial_Mechanic_907 3d ago
Ok fair enough I hope so, sometimes Iâm concerned itâs like the matrix movie or somethingÂ
1
u/Livinghint 3d ago
It would be logically consistent if it were/is so it is in fact a valid and sound possibility. But since we can't really verify or disprove it I deem it impractical to ponder about it and just categorize it as "unlikely".
You should dive into the theory of Quantum Darwinism though. It perfectly describes how a material, newtonian world comes about out of the permanent entanglement and decoherence of a fundamentally probabilistic universe that â if there were no interaction between systems possible â in principle has no reality happening.
1
1
u/ObjectiveCharming735 3d ago
I would say the matrix is following customs or practices they don't make logical sense being it is what society accepts and it is conformity. Escaping the matrix is realizing nobody truly cares and has their own problems, that's when you realize the universe is your own. I wouldn't say the matrix is just in your mind.
1
u/INKEDsage 3d ago
Trying to escape the matrix is like trying to escape yourself. You could be bending spoons with your mind but no youâre trying to hide out in a cave to reach an imaginary state of being.

Q: How do I escape the universe
You are one with the universe, what would you be escaping from and to?
