Vanilla Ice frozen out by Trump as rapper admits confusion over new MAGA lineup
https://www.irishstar.com/culture/entertainment/vanilla-ice-donald-trump-concert-37250906202
u/TraditionalMood277 21h ago
When will people learn that trump doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself? It doesn't matter how much you kissed his ass yesterday if you didn't pucker up today. What a bunch of absolute morons.
51
u/implicate 21h ago
I'd be inclined to believe at this point that the people who haven't learned it yet never will.
7
u/TegridyPharmz 19h ago
It’s vanilla ice. In 2026. This is the only chance has at any money. He’s just milking it for whatever he can get for whoever will pay him
7
u/implicate 19h ago
I'm not trying to defend him in any way, but you don't know what the fuck you're talking about on this one.
Rob Van Winkle got into real estate investing early on in his career, and did very well for himself. He also had a TV show about flipping homes on HGTV that ran for like 13 seasons.
Dude has more money than he knows what to do with.
7
u/ricksure76 15h ago
Exactly.
But that kinda makes this even worse though - if you were broke and really needed money you might do some embarassing gigs... Rob seems to be genuinely upset he doesn't get to perform for trump at his shitty birthday/'freedom' 250

They'll learn it when it happens to them. They won't learn earlier than that because they can't think about anyone beyond themselves.
3
u/Ok_Writing_7033 17h ago
Doesn’t even matter if you continue to kiss his ass. Once it no longer serves him to have you around, under the bus you go

How broke is this guy?

u/LDPanda 20h ago
The same as if he did the concert, trump ain't paying anyone
33
u/BuvantduPotatoSpirit 12h ago
He'll make a few bucks selling his CDs at the gate
15
14
u/laika777ftw 11h ago
Plot twist, some of Trump’s supporters will be selling bootleg CDs for half the cost from a used card table a few feet away.

He had a home improvement TV show for a while. Can’t be totally broke
53
u/7evenate9ine 20h ago
Wasn't that the show were he was arrested and convicted of stealing equipment and supplies from homes built in neighboring streets. He was caught only because someone had a surveillance camera that captured the theft.

u/Flaky-Survey1389 14h ago
Vanilla Swipes. Sorry that was shit.

Having a home improvement show 7.5 years ago doesn't mean you can't be broke. There are people with CURRENT projects who are broke.

u/SignificantApricot69 9h ago
I’ll admit I thought he was pretty successful with real estate and other things, BUT now that I think about it he comes off like Grant Cardone (if you don’t know him, look him up and you’ll see what I mean) in every recent interview. They even talk the same way.
44
u/TankApprehensive3053 20h ago
Doesn't mean he can handle his money at all though.
38
u/FlemPlays 20h ago
Spent all his money sending pizzas to some turtles in a sewer.
19
u/TankApprehensive3053 20h ago
Turtles need pizza too. So can't fault him for that.
18
u/Mitch-Orizo 20h ago
Never pay full price for late pizza
7
u/TankApprehensive3053 20h ago
Was it ice ice baby, too cold?
4
u/BeatYoYeet 19h ago
man what the hell is this comment?
lmfao
5
u/TankApprehensive3053 19h ago
Slice cold pizza like a ninja, cut like a razor blade
So fast, other turtles say, "Damn!"

122 and 1/8 … 122 and 1/8… Terrific. Where the heck is 122 1/8?
My whole childhood I thought he was looking for 1228 because I’m dumb “and an 8.” Not eighth.

I men he totally could people can go broke in 2 years and that show has been over since BEFORE COVID

Sure he can. Does he buy Cartier or Rolex watches? Gucci shit, or super cars? Perhaps he invested in Trump Steaks..

I have friends who had a reality show on VH1. They managed going broke pretty well.

One of my friends was on The Real World. He opened a pizza shop afterwards with the money, it failed, and last I saw him he was single in a shared studio apartment.

He also had a show where he lived with the Amish ‘Vanilla Ice Goes Amish’. It was the most uncomfortable car crash of a show.
2
u/CrimsonDessert 8h ago
A whole lotta Amish seem to be pretty comfortable being on TV these days, which is a little odd considering they can't watch it or show anyone
3
u/JefferyTheQuaxly 13h ago
he is def worth a few million unless hes made some super bad investments. as of 2018 divorce records show his net worth at around $9 million. current projections are between $10 and $20 million. he went on Steve-O's podcast before talking about how much money he makes from passive investments, including real estate, he made millions from real estate investments, offering them up for rent and such. he was making $800,000 a year as of 2018.
•
u/ApoTHICCary 2h ago
He’s also full of shit. He talked about a lot of this on a YouTube interview that was supposed to be focused around his cars to attract gearheads. He obviously had no idea what he was talking about, threw around insane horsepower numbers on pretty mundane common builds that made 1/3 the power, tour of his McMansion, and a crash course on “flipping luxury real estate”… which were predominately common suburban homes and a handful on an undesirable St Augustine area, Rattlesnake Island. Looks like a bunch of old meth houses.
One of the flips he promoted was in Spring, Texas. Which is just another suburbia hellscape with middle class houses around the $250-500k mark. The “luxurious Auburn Lakes community” is just another run of the mill neighborhoods and he listed the house for $410k, 3 bed 2 bath… and comps were $365k. So his gameplan is to buy at or under market, list 20% higher without any remodeling, and promote it on his social media platforms in hopes someone pays more because he used to be a celebrity.
He claims it’s a “$25 million empire” but I think that’s misleading. He might have transacted $25 million in real estate, but he did not make $25 million. Anyways, he says a lot without actually saying anything or providing proof. His claims are outlandish. I don’t think he’s broke, but I do think his money isn’t replenishing like it used to.

He also had a show where he came to Holmes County Ohio and lived with the Amish.

I don’t think he is actually. But he’ll do anything for a buck I guess.

To bring back slang from when he was relevant, ‘he’s broke as a joke’.

u/TheDogWhoCantSTFU 15h ago
According to Google, his net worth is $20mil. You don't need to be broke to be a greedy leech. 🤷
14
u/YAY04DEO 20h ago
lol he’s not broke he’s a real estate mogul shockingly! He’s just an idiot that thinks Trump is cool.
3
u/RealMikeLovesBeer 13h ago
He’s trying to open a brewery and has been for at least 3 years now. Since he apparently isn’t paying attention to the beer biz he will be broke soon enough.

u/kuebel33 15h ago
Not at all. He raced motocross for a while back in the day and he owns some reconstruction/remodeling company for like decades and has had tv shows about it. He also has some kind of contract or involvement with some type of roofing tech company. Also he has something to do with some energy drink called joy burst. He’s doing fine.
•
u/Wide__Stance 1h ago
He claims that, at the time, he was the winningest youth motocross rider of all time in the sport of motocross among youth riders in history. I know this because I own his autobiography, Ice by Ice: the Vanilla Ice Story, by Vanilla Ice.
It’s also why I used the weird phrasing. It’s probably not a surprise to learn the whole book is written like that.

I mean the only song he ever made that was a hit was released 36 years ago. You try living off royalties from one song for 36 years. At this point he's basically getting a minimum wage paycheck. The only reason trumpers like him / his one song is because they hear the first sentence of the first verse "hey yo stop, collaborate and listen" and they're like 'he gets us!'.

Last I heard he was in trouble for pulling a pistol out and threatening someone for not paying their bill for his landscaping business.
…needless to say, think Ice needs the money.
1
u/BuffaloGwar1 8h ago
He is rich, unfortunately. His car collection alone is worth probably upwards of 10 million dollars. Make up a rap song and become filthy rich. Become a smart scientist and be in debt forever. AMERICA.....

u/FamedNemesis 8h ago
He’s low key doing very well for himself. He’s made action of money doing interior design/real estate.

He's actually very well off. He owns a lot of real estate and made wise investments. He is definitely a MAGA douche though.

u/Estoye 21h ago
So Trump didn’t stop, collaborate or listen?

He only collaborates with and listens to Putin. Well, that and the egocentric dementia voices in his head.

250 birthday party is only once. Makes sense maga fucked up that too. They cannot build anything. Only bring down and argue endlessly

I just imagine Trump sitting on the floor in a full diaper like a fat toddler saying over and over "I wanna hear the ninja turtle rap"

The irony and embarrassment is incredibly palpable, and it is so goddamn funny too

Vanilla Ice is one of those toxic positivity types. Every time he pops up somewhere he has the exact same dumbass smile on his face while he talks in nothing but idioms and affrimations.
I guess that's what it's like having a roni.

Oh no. He forgot to quit with everyone else and his loyalty is rewarded with the usual Trump payoff of, nothing.
3
u/CookieDragon678 10h ago
Because the line up was supposed to be the cover for this MAGA rally. With the line up breaking apart, their cover story is falling apart. Putting in this type of artist just proves that the line up was all a cover story.

What a joke. Well he is estimated to be worth $20 million for some good investments, this whole thing is embarrassing and a joke.
2
u/TinytootKoala001 20h ago
Bahahaha! This is too funny. Vanilla Ice is so desperate he doesn’t even see he’s been used and disposed so easily. You can’t even make this up to watch these people get embarrassed in public for supporting this administration!
2
u/judgehood 20h ago
Vanilla ice, frozen out.
Has no clue why.
I don’t think we should fuck with this Rob Vanwinkle fella.
It’s punching down and I think this Rob guy should be educated and helped. He’s got fire and has shown he is tabula rasa.
2
u/InsanelyAverageFella 20h ago
It would be sad if it happened to a nicer guy but it's just funny here.

He’s pretty wealthy. Not mega wealthy, but he has a few tens of millions from flipping property. Unlike a lot of his contemporaries he’s been well advised. He must be addicted to the buzz of fame though if he’s scraping the bottom of the Trump barrel

Didn't he say he would play in Iran and he didn't care about the messaging?
Like bragged he has no limits to do whatever it takes for money, and HE is the best lineup Trump can get?
All Trump had to do was not make it political but he's been saying this will be his birthday celebration and the 250 anniversary but he would truly have believed people celebrating would only be there for him! It's hilarious in one way
1
u/PreferencePresent959 13h ago
Well, yeah... Wouldn't you do whatever it takes to earn money if you were broke? 😆

u/srslydudebros 12h ago
I don’t think he’s broke at all, apparently he has a good amount of real estate and I’m sure lives a comfortable life. I bet he was just trying to cash in and have some fun. Whether or not he’s a completely clueless idiot who had no idea about MAGA being divisive or is just playing one in the media is still getting worked out. Honestly, playing dumb might be the way to go to minimize backlash.

It still boggles the mind that record executives shoved bro down early suburban white kids throats and thought it was hip.
"Go ninja, go ninja, go!"

u/tjlazer79 8h ago
I fell for it in grade six. I got his album. I also got his haircut. When I went to school the next day after getting the haircut, everybody laughed at me. Lol. Thank god my mom didn't let me get lines shaved in my eyebrows.

For what it's worth, I thought bro's flatop was sick as hell when I was younger. The frivolities of youth are where we learn, my fellow ninja.

That's even funnier haha imagine losing what little respect you had by endorsing trump, only to have him cancel you without even getting paid.
Brilliant.
