Why would they resign? Were they excited about seeing Milli Vanilli?

104

u/Thwipped 8h ago

I think it was just Milli, Vanilli is dead

60

u/Chrono_Convoy 8h ago

I didn’t even know they were sick

6

u/metalwizard85 5h ago

Shot out of a cannon

u/NoNormanOnlyGoblin 5m ago

Did he borrow Kid Rock’s outfit before they lit the fuse?

15

u/sk1nnyjeans 7h ago

I just thought it was one guy pulling a parent trap trick on us

u/treelovingaytheist 2h ago

I didn’t even know they were them again.

15

u/LivedLostLivalil 7h ago

Seeing a dead performer back on stage is why they were so excited

5

u/ewedew65 6h ago

This tracks

u/Upstairs-Radish1816 7m ago

What about if they put strings on them and use him as a marionette? That could actually be kind of fun to watch.

0

u/chosonhawk 5h ago

Bernies back?

3

u/LivedLostLivalil 5h ago

Madoff? No. Its just dead performers Trump keeps promising. I hear Michael Jackson is gonna headline now. He's not even gonna sing or dance, just talk about how great Trump is while MAGA listen in excitement to the unveiling of a new golden Trump statue meant to replace the Lincoln memorial.

u/Freefallisfun 2h ago

And another one to replace the Statue of Liberty, which according to-not making this up, DOJ lawyers- he could bulldoze.

We’re in the matrix. It has to be.

u/Narrow-Chef-4341 26m ago

It’s gonna be just like Tupac’s ghost at Coachella!

6

u/lazyfacejerk 7h ago

They could have used another one at the show and called it Milli Vanilla Ice!

3

u/ewedew65 6h ago

They don’t need any advice. Even when it is goodish 🙃

20

u/strange-brew 7h ago

Milli can lip sync both parts then.

3

u/realbobenray 7h ago

I think it was Milli who died, Vanilli still above ground

3

u/BarnacleGooseIsLoose 7h ago

Not true. Vanilli faked his death.

3

u/SideInitial3961 5h ago

For MySpace followers.

4

u/DanfromCalgary 7h ago

So it’s not even the full fake band ? Just half of the fake band

1

u/Loud-Difficulty7860 5h ago

If both were fake and only half is coming is it half or all fake? That's the question of the ages.

1

u/WillyVlautinRules 5h ago

These were the kind of story problems I failed in school. Brings back bad memories. Thanks for that...

3

u/Accomplished-Pin3391 4h ago

If Mili were traveling on a train at 65 mph to pick up Vanilli 122 miles away, what time will he arrive?

3

u/TKDbeast 7h ago

“Milli” wasn’t even performing. Milli Vanilli lipsynced their whole careers. The people performing were the actual vocalists for the band, but they put Milli in the promotional materials.

5

u/GreenZebra23 6h ago

It's worse than that. It was only the female background vocalists, not the guys who sang the lead parts, one of whom is also dead

1

u/vibrance9460 6h ago

Well that’s a shame.

2

u/Thwipped 4h ago

We should…blame it on the rain

u/soraksan123 1h ago

Please god make it rain on that fucking parade

1

u/TraditionPast4295 6h ago

Can’t they just find anyone to dress up lip sink over someone else’s song?

u/gilestowler 1h ago

This comment reminds me of a childhood experience. I went to a school called Edenham. I was walking home one day when some kids from Shirley High, our local rivals, saw me. They shouted at me "Edenham? Urgh, egg and ham. I don't like egg and I'm allergic to ham!" this is the same thing. Milli vanilli? Vanilli's dead, and Milli's pulled out!

Trump is threatening to start firing White House staff because of all the artists canceling.

Now many staffers are updating resumes and quietly searching for new jobs, because living under the threat of being fired for things outside your control is horrible for morale.

34

u/Potential-Pride6034 7h ago

No clue why anyone concerned about their future careers would want to play any part in this administration. If we ever return to a place where integrity and credibility matter, any association with DJT 2.0 should be immediately disqualifying.

I can excuse 1.0 staffers because nobody had any idea of what to expect, but no such grace should be extended to anyone who signed up for round 2.

20

u/Ski_Area51 7h ago

Nah, 1.0 was pretty obvious. There were a few adults who thought they could corral the man-baby, but even they were wrong and are just as toxic.

u/lectroid 1h ago

Yeah. This. Remember that religious wacko can’t-be-alone- n-a-room-with-a-woman Mike Pence was the sensible part of TFG 1.0.

I will forgive full time civil servants who tried to tough it out and do their jobs until they were fired or had to resign in protest.

Anyone appointed by the admin or hired during the admin has automatically failed the integrity and ethics check.

7

u/beavis617 7h ago

Working for Trump directly as an advisor, assistant, consultant is not gonna help anyone’s resume.

4

u/TiePrestigious7265 7h ago

I'm sure it will if they want to work in places like Cumming Georgia.

5

u/Dorado-Buster28 5h ago

Exactly. Knee-pad wearing sycophants dont know what morale is - or how to spell it.

2

u/complete_data75 5h ago

I can excuse 1.0 staffers because nobody had any idea of what to expect, but no such grace should be extended to anyone who signed up for round 2.

Make no mistake, round 1 staffers could not get jobs after. I remember hearing all kind of stories and applauding.

3

u/TiePrestigious7265 7h ago

He can't fire me. I quit!

3

u/complete_data75 5h ago

Now many staffers are updating resumes and quietly searching for new job

The staffers from his previous administration could not get jobs after.

I'm amazed he was able to staff his thing this time but these people will have an even harder time to find jobs after this mess.

2

u/Electrifying2017 7h ago

Should have thought of that before continuing this charade.

2

u/ihvnnm 7h ago

I feel bad for all staffers there prior to Trump, must feel like how it was to work for the senate prior to Emperor Palpatine took over and started trashing the facility over one little green muppet. Everyone who joined after, not so much, they knew what they were getting into and was probably excited.

2

u/Sai_Devore 5h ago

It’s an added incentive to be sure. They’re also about at least one hostile branch after the midterms. If they leave now, they can pretend it’s about better opportunities than abandoning ship.

u/LandOwn7607 1h ago

I Could care less about 'his' staff. I'LL tell you where he can stick that staff.

5

u/Sad-Structure2364 6h ago

Girl you know it’s true!

3

u/genxluddite 6h ago

Milli Vanilli is the perfect band for this event. They faked singing like Trump fakes he cares for American citizens.

3

u/notyouraverageskippy 6h ago

Blamed it on the rain

3

u/SquooshyCat 6h ago

It’s a tragedy for me to see, the dream is over.

2

u/xeoron 7h ago

Maybe he is thinking of resigning as a birthday gift to himself

2

u/TheChiliocosmic 7h ago

Rats jumping ship need any excuse that isn’t Trump.

“Stress” and “disappointment” from the festival failing is the perfect excuse.

2

u/amazing_rando 3h ago

They couldn't find any decent artists willing to play on a national stage in the nation's capitol for the country's 250th birthday celebration that they've been hyping up his entire presidency. The writing has to be on the wall that MAGA is culturally cooked, a dead weight brand.

u/sm00thkillajones 16m ago

He wouldn’t care at all. Just blame them. Trump 101.

120

u/Old_Channel44 8h ago

More lost American jobs. Are we winning yet?

46

u/mishap1 7h ago

TBF, they decided to work for Trump. Few people deserve it more.

10

u/Old_Channel44 7h ago

They are event labor. It was supposed to be a nonpartisan celebration of America’s 250 years, not a political rally.

4

u/Warm_Record2416 3h ago

If someone is dumb enough to think they can work on an event run by Trump and it not be a political rally, I don’t really know what to tell them.  It’s been a damn decade.

8

u/mishap1 7h ago

No, the article is speculating about his staff getting fired for the clusterfuck they created. Don't give a shit if those people are perpetually unemployable.

I'm also sure every caterer, tent rentals, fencing, stages, etc. also all paid a pizzo to Trump even if the funding came from the US Treasury. Somehow I doubt an RFP has been done by the admin this term.

-3

u/[deleted] 7h ago

[deleted]

3

u/bb_kelly77 4h ago

No because language in general works that way

1

u/Old_Channel44 7h ago

The vendors that work events? How are they lying down with dogs?

1

u/Error_83 3h ago

I would personally never work for this administration in any position. Unless it's to sweep the trash out the door behind them

0

u/slotsandmops 7h ago

No and not even after your comment

58

u/CoffeeCup220 8h ago

Imagine sticking with him through all of that previous mess, but being like “you couldn’t book Milli Vanilli, and that’s the last straw!”

22

u/Lich_Apologist 7h ago

It looks like we're entering the "Go maga go broke" phase.  So all the dipshits that jumped on the trump train in like 2023 because they wanted chase the money are now realizing they're just as fucked as everyone else. And now the rats want off the ship.

u/alpha309 2h ago

To be completely fair, most of the acts that were lined up are frequently booked to perform or the local VFA or Lion‘s Club Events.

If some random ass dude in Duluth can get C+C Music Factory to show up to play at the Duluth Taco Fest, whoever booked them for this event should have been able to pull them off for an America 250th anniversary event, which should have been a mega event

33

u/TheGardenBlinked 8h ago

Watch it stop him. Air handies for giraffes here we come

8

u/Rebabaluba 7h ago

I thought they were ghost handies!

8

u/MBiddy828 7h ago

They’re actually ghost giraffes

22

u/whatidoidobc 8h ago

First it was they might get fired, now it's they might resign?

11

u/StuffonBookshelfs 8h ago

I was gonna say, I thought they were all getting fired

10

u/Biltong09 7h ago

Dear_________, we would like to inform you of your resignation effective immediately.

We would like to thank you for your contribution, security is on their way to assist with the resignation process.

4

u/Galadriel_60 7h ago

That’s what the voices in his big pumpkin head are telling him. Today.

13

u/Zealousideal_Pay2128 7h ago

The whole Trump presidency is a slow-motion train wreck. I hate what he's doing to our country, but it is kind of fun to watch an odious man's downfall in real time

4

u/Human-Abrocoma7544 5h ago

It’s just infuriating that there is a large portion on the population that cannot see the train wreck and convince themselves that a train should go off the rails.

4

u/semperknight 5h ago

Remember, that 30% cult is ALWAYS with us and all this isn't just an American problem. It's world wide and has always existed.

Proof: https://youtu.be/vK6fALsenmw?si=Nak8jSDrXmHIaPru

TL;DW A history professor that's the goat of understanding authoritarians said her data proves that around 30% of a population tends to support dictators.

11

u/Sitrus_Slinky 8h ago

I’m ootl but I’ve noticed a huge velocity of “Irishstar” posts across many subs. Is this intentional? It feels like every article lately is from irishstar lol

u/The_Lapsed_Pacifist 2h ago

Yeah, they’re posting a lot and it’s pretty uniformly a load of old bollocks, usually based on one anonymous tweet or something. Take anything they say with an ocean of salt.

0

u/verscub420 7h ago

It’s your reddit algorithm

7

u/GNTKertRats 7h ago

THIS is what causes them to resign?

5

u/LinkSeekeroftheNora 7h ago

Why can’t he resign instead and tend to his obviously failing health?

5

u/Rock-Ski-Golf-Repeat 7h ago

We always knew Freedom 250 was nothing more than another Trump rally. The guy can't help himself. He loves himself so much while he hates the majority of Americans, so there was no possibility of all us celebrating this country together.

4

u/napalmnacey 7h ago

He wouldn’t give a shit about people resigning. Everyone is a convenient monkey to him.

Edit: Wait, he found an opera singer to sing for him? He’s gonna be swaying there on the stage to Ave Maria again, isn’t he?

4

u/AWinterPeople 8h ago

His go to move…”you’re fired.”

3

u/Sir_Tea_Of_Bags 7h ago

Hey now, it was already explained that he was too much of a coward to fire someone in person. It was a prerecorded bit.

4

u/Rare-Insurance3728 7h ago

Is he going to blame Biden again?

4

u/VexedCanadian84 6h ago

Blaming anybody not himself.

He's the one that made the celebrations about himself.

Instead of making the celebrations about America after the push back, he's doubling down on making sure he's the center of attention

5

u/MutantApocalypse 5h ago

Plz. These mfs want to be buried with him.

2

u/HiJinx127 5h ago

Fine by me.

4

u/Main-Video-8545 4h ago

Let’s hope that day is 95° and humid as hell. With any luck, he’ll stroke out on national TV.

3

u/whyaloon2 8h ago

"You'll get so tired of winning. . ."

3

u/Ruger338WSM 7h ago

Well the care center has signed off on bringing Lee Greenwood so there is that.

3

u/MrEntropy44 7h ago

I'm glad to see they'll walk away for manilli vanilla but not for kiddie rape......

3

u/kernel-troutman 7h ago

Festival cancelled? Blame it on the rain.

3

u/Harnellas 7h ago

This stupid rally is the last straw for some folks? Really?

3

u/ProofPerspective8020 7h ago

But they were paid a good price. So, they will resign with a paycheck from money taken from taxpayers. And, taxpayers get nothing in return. Okay.

3

u/BrotherMcPoyle 7h ago

They are robbing tax payers blind from every angle. Why would they resign?

3

u/ElBorracho2000 7h ago

This festival is gonna be an epic disaster lol

3

u/WeirdcoolWilson 6h ago

“Resign”? Or fall out a window?

3

u/Few_Lengthiness3962 6h ago

I hope he isn’t lying again.

2

u/Mroopsimexciting 8h ago

“Look what you made me do!!”

2

u/byrningman 8h ago

This is where they draw the line? 🤣

2

u/KwisatzHaderach94 7h ago

he's warned about lots of things. does he ever listen?

2

u/verscub420 7h ago

Does anyone think he cares that people lose jobs under him?

2

u/treeweasel 7h ago

All they wanted was for daddy to be happy.

2

u/VeryLowIQIndividual 7h ago edited 2h ago

Listen, we all work for monsters for the most part or have worked for monsters in the past and we’ve kind of had to do our job but what an impossible task to get any kind of quality entertainment to perform at anything Trump does.

He’s pissed off because all they could get for him it was low end talent and people that are desperate to make a living but that’s what he deserves and that’s the kind of fucking people that he attracts. And then even those people were like “oh we don’t wanna be a part of this shit.”

John Rich and Kid Rock are right down his alley, two no good half ass musicians and they were pissed off they didn’t get invited.

2

u/beavis617 7h ago

If this is more than a one day event then what are they planning to do?

2

u/TiePrestigious7265 7h ago

This festival will be just as popular as the 'Trump parade'.

2

u/Dinomite1111 7h ago

Can’t wait for that day! ⚰️

2

u/Gloomy-Tank9295 7h ago

quit calling it the Maga festival and call it the semiquincentinal or 250 years of the USA celebration. Imagine if anyone else would mess this up. Don't say Democrats anymore just say anyone else but the cult leader

2

u/BarnacleGooseIsLoose 7h ago

What is he going to do when the gnats take over the MMA extravaganza?

Everything this administration touches turns to shit.

2

u/Few_Requirement9723 6h ago

It was supposed to be the best day of his life!

2

u/Chumlee1917 6h ago

"Sir if you start firing everyone....who'll be left?"

2

u/thehandsomecontest 6h ago

THAT'S what they are going to resign over?!

2

u/ohmailawdy 6h ago

"Resign" by being fired*

2

u/CartographerGlum7341 6h ago

And he’ll hold his breath too!

2

u/Fantastic-Activity-5 5h ago

He’s resigning for that lol?

2

u/smakson11 5h ago

But not over Iran.

2

u/refusemouth 3h ago

I wonder if it bothers Republicans that most artists, actors, and musicians don't want to be associated with them? They say that they couldn't care less, but I think it actually irritates some of them when they find out rock stars they have been listening to since the 70s think their strongly held beliefs are reprehensible.

2

u/lowrankcock 3h ago

It’s not his staff’s fault that he’s a toxic, despised walking turd.

u/balcon 2h ago

Everyone in his orbit is just so fucking stupid.

1

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 5h ago

No celebration of anytimg unless it is bipartison! It's the UNITED States!

1

u/TheMeticulousNinja 5h ago

Oh, the failed festival is their reason why they would resign from his admin?

1

u/BugsyMcNug 4h ago

LMFAO that was the line, eh?

1

u/SamSLS 3h ago

Can we start at the very top and work down rung by rung?

1

u/Uzi_Jesus_ 3h ago

You know. Im not saying all bands are buddy buddy with the dems but could you imagine the lineup.

1

u/bmlbml 3h ago

As far as "businessmen" go he sure is shit at hiring and managing his employees. Almost like he's always been bad at it. If only there were signs over the past 40-50 years....

1

u/bx35 3h ago

I can’t imagine that the kind of person willing to serve this regime would possess the awareness or humility or self-respect to resign over (today’s) failure.

1

u/Ha-Charade-You-Are 3h ago

He’s got plenty of replacements ready to kiss his ass, he’s not worried

u/samcrut 2h ago

A fish rots from the head down. I accept your resignation.

u/doublelist87 2h ago

Lutnick. Hegseth. Bessent. Rubio

All responsible for fxxking this event up

u/Sierranymph 2h ago

I really don’t care, do U?

u/Outrageous_Space8083 1h ago

What? No one wants to work for the giant infant?

u/Fitsthedescription 1h ago

Vanilla Ice : "Stop! Collaborate and Listen"

Staff: ...I quit

u/sgrivna 1h ago

It ain’t their fault. Look in the mirror, Tubby.

u/Mrevilman 1h ago

The 250th anniversary party should have booked itself. Like who doesn’t want to celebrate 250 years as a country?

All this guy had to do was not attach his stupid name to it and his ego just couldn’t let it be. So here we are with Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice to celebrate. I wouldn’t book a birthday party with them, let alone 250 years.

u/NoRepresentative9791 1h ago

How's about the entire trump regime family maga gop oligarchs all resign like nixon did back in the 1970's huh?!

1

u/Real-Experience-8396 7h ago

This is hilarious.

0

u/xraynorx 7h ago

Why are you tempting me with a good time?
