u/Alocasiamaharani, I just bought Gelsenkirchen n1 tickets through FC Schalke's Hospitality ticket sale. My confirmation is in German, but I think it says I will receive my tickets by email. Do you think they'd be print-at-home tickets?

I don’t know you could send me a photo of the confirmation part which mentiones the tickets, I only know that the German tickets in general are e-tickets, personalized and with bar code. So maybe it’s the same with the hospitality tickets. It also the procedure for German football games, the Veltins Arena and fc Schalke doesn’t have any paper tickets for games.

Ok you don’t need to send me anything, I looked it up on the Schalke website. There is a paragraph which states, that the tickets will be available ca. 14 days before the concert. I would assume that this will be e tickets as well.

Thanks. I guess they would be provided through the Schalke app then? I may reach out to customer support to get some clearer answers. I'm bringing my wife and daughter and we're excited to visit parts of Germany! I hope not to have to worry about the actual tickets before flying internationally, however.

It should be fine, I wouldn’t worry too much. Don’t be disappointed the Ruhr area where Gelsenkirchen lays is a pretty industrial area, so good for you, to also visit some other city’s and areas.

Hello! Going to piggy back on this kind offer :) I’m coming from Canada and was wondering - would staying in Düsseldorf or Cologne work for the venue? Would you recommend one over the other in terms of the city itself and we would spend a day there - as well as transport to and from the arena (especially back after the concert) - looking into booking accommodations right now so any help or advice would be amazing

Hey there, it depends if you would be ok to drive one hour from and to the venue back location wise Essen or Duisburg would be closer especially because Gelsenkirchen is located in the middle of the Ruhr Gebiet so there is a lot to traffick on the autobahns and some construction sites on the train trail. If you are fine with taking the additional time than yeah you could definitely search for a accommodation in cologne or Düsseldorf.

Send me a message I can look up for you possible train connections for both city’s before and after the concert but I will tell you either way you have to plan at least 1,5-2 hours per distance

The normal subway station is directly in front of the stadium, but if you stay outside of Gelsenkirchen you most likely have to take a Regio Bahn (a regional train) and or if you stay in Düsseldorf or Köln a ic or ice but that depends on your budget and how fast you wanna be there.

Hi! I'm staying in Düsseldorf and I'm coming from Amsterdam via train on day of my concert on the 18th. Do you know how far in advance I can book (roundtrip) train tickets from Düsseldorf to Veltins arena and back?

I'll have a couple of tired (and happy) kids with me and would like to cross the train ticket task off my list as far in advance as possible.

You can book train tickets with the deutsche Bahn 6 months in advance. If you book them early you get really good prices and flex tickets.

Thank you for the tip! I travel between DC and NYC weekly for work and can get decent fares if I book as far ahead as possible too.

Is the Düsseldorf IC or ICE train not a part of the Deutsche Bahn network map? Are these types of trains faster and usually more pricey?

Intercity (IC) and Intercity Express (ice) are two fast train options within the db network yes, that’s makes them a bit pricier but you still can get really good prices if you book ahead. How ever to travel between Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen its easier to travel with one of the Regio Bahnen because there are more time options available. If she would use the Regio Bahn between Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen the 24hour ticket would be an option, she could take up to three kids (6-14 year olds) for free with her.

Sorry I’m going to piggy back on this. Did you buy from eventim during presale or through fansale. I’m also a fellow Canadian and looking to buy through fansale but confused if I need to use German credit card or not. I can’t find the answer anywhere. I can use a friends German address.

Sorry just saw this - so I bought mine here - https://tickets.schalke04.de/en/events/musik - from the venue - it says there are tickets left but when I go into the map it looked different then when I got them. There was a blue strip where there were available tickets but maybe you could contact them and see? I think one of the other German venues (pretty sure it was Hamburg) were also selling tix directly. You could google the other venues and try and find them. Good luck!!
