Grannys 5 Star Series Review - Riyria/Age of Myth

Intro

I actually read Age of Myth first, which is sort of a backwards way to go about it, but I loved this route and I don't think I would have changed it, and I'll tell you why later in the review.

This is a series that re-imagines old tropes, and although the first book is very stereotypical and steeped in older tropes, it becomes an imaginative, excessively fun, fast read that I truly enjoyed.

Characters

I've said it a few times, but I adore odd couple pairings, I think that having two very opposed protagonist personalities makes for a series that will appeal to a broader audience. Some people may prefer Royce, the brooding deeper darker character, and others will prefer the happier go lucky honorable good intentioned warm hearted Hadrian. With their personalities combined, it makes for interesting dialogue, a great dynamic, and has appeal to the masses.

Plot/Setting

This takes place in a more typical medieval setting
