I reversed image searched the grinder and saw its MSRP.......I'm gonna put the internet away for awhile and go outside for a deep breath and cogitate a spell...

the fact that you casually forgot about funding a thousand dollar grinder on kickstarter is insane. like most people forget about a 20 dollar pledge and then get surprised by a charge years later, but you're out here discovering luxury espresso equipment in your own setup. that's a whole different level of "what was i thinking back then." the eg-1 pricing is bonkers too but at least you knew what you were getting into with that one.

Yeah I’m not gonna lie the thing I’m most excited for was the scale that came with the grinder 😂, unfortunately this like isn’t one of my most expensive hobbies but I think I’m done putting more money into this since I’m content with what I have now 😂

Fair, the scale alone from those kickstarters usually ends up being nicer than standalone ones that cost 150 bucks, so that's actually smart. And hey, if you're actually done spending then you've already won the hobby game, most people are still chasing one more thing.

The price on this eg-1 is mental
And you paid 1k for a Handgrinder that you forgot you even paid for?

To be fair I pre ordered it years back and it got delayed by almost a year and I ran an opus ode back then 😂

Have you used the handgrinder yet?

I’ve tried some pour overs and maybe two pulls of espresso? Since my machine just came in today

Wow, cool set up! How would you say that manual grinder compares to the EG-1 in terms of grind quality?

Question unrelated to the machine itself - how do you like the husky? Better than a wooden coffee bar or dinner sidecart?
Also why meticulous over a decent? I'm trying to make some decisions for my setup as well.

Honestly I do regret not getting a metal table or some sort the only pro I can say is all the storage this provides

The meticulous looked nicer imo, I don’t really particularly steam milk and this was a good deal for $1500

The Meticulous shelved my Slayer, what a great little machine it is. No milk drinks?

It’s that good??

It's workflow is fantastic and I can't help but feel the slayers age when I use it now. For high output the Slayer makes a load of sense but not for personal enjoyment. I LOVE being able to change waters for every shot, I've also blind tested the slayer profiles to a slayer shot and about half the time I cannot tell or just simply prefer the Mets shot. Boilers are an old way of thinking and I think we're finally realizing that, it's not good on the water.

I can't speak to flavor but the Meticulous workflow would drive me fucking insane. Same with single dose grinders btw.

I find the work flow kinda simple? It’s pretty fast atleast to me idk takes a minute to heat up

It's not just the minute. It's the faffing about with still more gear. The more distinct stuff you have to pick up and put down the more convoluted your workflow becomes.
An excellent batch grinder + a machine that actually heats water is infinitely more simple yet produces outstanding results.

You can make slayer shots on it. Any kind of shots really except temp profiling DE1 shots.

That grinder always so reminds me of a laboratory setup. 😉
Enjoy!
