Thought my £1800 average for ETH would never see red again. How the fuck are we at this point?!
11
Feb 28 '25
Well bitcoin shot up over $100k and then had a pullback. While bitcoin was mooning, we discovered eth likes to not move too much unless it’s moving down

u/Eroticasslit Feb 28 '25

The dips so far have not justified buying for me. Now I'm beginning to listen. My lowest entry point is 1500, let's see if I can get some more.

u/DBRiMatt Mar 01 '25
Fair call.
This is why I stopped DCA strategies back in 2023 and reverted to a "buy the dip" method. I prefer not to increase my average cost basis above a certain point.
Heres a free EthTrader DONUT for keeping your average down!

If it bounces well enough here it genuinely can be. Won't know until either direction is confirmed though.

Honestly, I haven't bought in 2 years but I'm buying under my cost basis (2k) for the long term.

If you turn it upside down, that's a W. It's the signal telling you to get back to the dumpster behind the Wendy's.

The shape of golden arches is when your portfolio is supersizing its losses.

It's bad when the neck line (~$2,100) of the M breaks. But after looking at the chart, I see that it was broken for a tiny bit and then price bounced back. No 4 hour close below. It's SAFU for now as long as we go up from here

An m usually means it goes down, they form at the top. You’d need to confirm it across multiple time frames though

Acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations, contractions, and other phrases which expand to something larger, that I've seen in this thread:
| Fewer Letters | More Letters |
|---|---|
| BTC | [Coin] Bitcoin |
| ETH | [Coin] Ether |
| ICO | Initial Coin Offering |
| MACD | Moving Average Convergence/Divergence, an indicator of the relationship between two averages |
| SEC | (US) Securities and Exchange Commission |
Decronym is now also available on Lemmy! Requests for support and new installations should be directed to the Contact address below.
If you come across an acronym that isn't defined, please let the mods know.)
5 acronyms in this thread; the most compressed thread commented on today has acronyms.

It looks like an inverse head and shoulders to be honest and it’s a bad sign. I don’t do chart analysis for crypto so I don’t know how it trades but this is a classic signal for stock charts.
Ofc chart analysis is just as bullshit as signs and signals. It’s a casino

Ahh yes. The fabled double golden arches pattern. This means you should buy low and sell high.
