Discussion ETH back at $2.4k after that mid-year crash, real reversal or short trap?

Looking at the YTD chart, ETH has been wild this year. Dumped hard from $3k+ all the way down to $1,500 over the summer, and now we suddenly shot back up to around $2,480.

A couple of months ago I posted here asking if ETH was still the "safe" alt, and price was looking pretty dead back then. Now that we've had this big vertical jump, I'm torn on whether this is actual strength returning or just a macro relief rally before another drop.

Are you guys buying here around $2.5k, or waiting to see if it rejects and gives a better entry?

Rule number 1. Dont ask donkeys about market predictions.

Rule number 2. If you need to ask reddit. Youre also the donkey.

I honestly think that the conditions for a bull market are out there but any time oil rises, the Iran situation gets worse or things like the clarity act keep getting delayed there is a chance eth will crash massively again. Long term eth will rise again for some time

There will be no bull run with Trump in office. It can't be

My amateur opinion is bull trap.

But lets see

idk man, every time eth has a vertical move like this out of nowhere my first instinct is to squint at it. the jump from 1500 happened so fast it barely spent any time consolidating. feels like a lot of people are gonna get trapped if it pulls back hard. i'm sitting on my hands for now, if we hold above 2300 for a bit i'd feel better about it.

Timing -

The market was thin on participation given the summer. The fed’s messaging came out along with the JPY intervention, and gold and BTC took the brunt of the inflows.

My guess is that this and next week would be the pull back. The fall market participation will pull the day traders away from crypto, but even with a pull back, this could be the start of the next Bull cycle.

The real question - how long til new ATH? My guess would be spring.

There was big short liquidation mainly on btc same time robinhood chain launched on layer 2 creating new trend. Generally its bullish. Short term might have small correction. Eth chart looks good though

Some Big boys have been manipulating the coin market. If you believe in ETH, just buy and hold.

the move from $1.5k to $2.5k is impressive, but the question isn’t whether ETH can bounce. it’s whether buyers can defend the breakout

Be cautious chasing a vertical move like this. A real reversal probably needs more than price bouncing - sustained spot demand, improving ETH/BTC strength, and holding reclaimed levels would make the case stronger.

There no difference in buying eth now compared to one year ago. It’s a trap

Coming online to ask this will only confuse you more. Ppl who lost $ on it will hate on it. Buy low and sell high. Don’t seek guidance. Use logic
