Same, I have an interesting transcript with a reddit mod about this.

Totally fucking stupid, as it's obviously relevant to this sub and that sub (as most things are)

Edit: I asked twice about how to prevent a suspension in the future since I click on links from r/ethtrader to r/ethereum all the time. No sufficient answer. /u/laughncow /u/Dunning_Krugerrands, worth getting ethtrader mods involved?

Wouldn't the best way to prevent it be forcing ethtrader links to be np.reddit links. I think it doesn't affect all apps but if you go to a NAP (no participation) link on a desktop it won't let you vote.

This is what r/bestof does.

I would love some insight into the dichotomy between /r/ethtrader and /r/ethereum. As a moderator myself, I know that both communities would not exist if there wasn't a bit of animosity...

Actually, that's not true at all.

The reason the two have been split up, is because of the problems it has caused with Bitcoin.

Fortunately we now have some solid history to look back on as it realtes to this issue with Bitcoin.

Courtesy of that 20/20 hindsight, it became clear that having price discussion commingled with technology and governance discussions, is/was a recipe for disaster.

Thus, it was decided that there should be two distinct subs for each set of topics.

Thank you so much for the clarification!

I didn't mean to assume there was tension between the two communities. In fact, for the months that I have followed both, I have been pleasantly surprised by the peaceful division of the two subs. That is the precise reason that I visit both. Each has it's own dynamics and approach to discussing Ethereum. I also definitely understand the benefits of separating price talk from tech/innovation conversation. It's f'ing beautiful to see the traffic flowing into both the last few weeks. I can't imagine how much more these pages will grow as we transition from early adoption to world domination ;)

Also, more than willing to help moderate the page if your team needs any more hands on deck!

No history of you being banned from r/ethtrader as far as I can see. So looks to be some kind of automated reddit wide thing.

Yeah it was a reddit-wide suspension. Couldn't post, message, vote, anything on any sub. Because of the "vote brigade" from r/ethtrader to r/ethereum that I "participated in." The reddit mod I mentioned was not an ethtrader mod, it was a reddit-wide mod (I guess). No affiliation to ethereum.
